I just picked up this pipe, which looks to be in great condition, for $30, free shipping. Looks like I got a good price on this. Looks like its in good condition, too. Looks to be pre-1980? This is my first GBD. This is one of the sellers pictures. I'll post my own after I receive the pipe.  |

Based on the picture which I'm viewing on a ten inch screen with aging eyes and New Standard, it appears pre-Cadogan; however, according to Pipedia, the brass rondells did make a reappearance on some newer GBDs. My pre-Cadogan GBDs are all mechanically sound, one of best bargains left on EBay IMHO. At $30, that's one heck of a nice score. |

Thanks guys, I've got two great pipes in a week, all for less than $150. Its been a great week as far as piping is concerned! For some reason I suddenly decided I really needed more straight stemmed pipes with a pot type bowl, and I got them both at a fantastic bargain!

Great score! Pots appeared to be undervalued shapes by the market. Not many new ones are being made either. But they really bring out the flavors in complex blends, especially Englishes. But I also enjoy puffing VAs in them, too.

But I also enjoy puffing VAs in them, too. hp les I just like how I seem to be able to stuff more tobacco in a lighter weight pipe! And the appearance.. I think is just classic! Everyone seems to want these bent stem, Peterson-system looking pipes now. While I admit I own a few like that myself, nothing beats a good straight stemmed pot! Just a few days ago I was thinking, I must own more like this! I think soon I will own many more! If I didn't have to buy a $650 mobile phone because my old one went for a swim, I think I'd be buying way more pipes this month!  |
