Guess before my time as a youngster. I collect: Knives, Pipes, Flashlights and Lighters. But I do own ONE Match box that was gifted to me a while back and was told it’s one that a collector should have, so I’ll take a picture to post....1950 Ford

I can picture you sitting in a sandbox playing with these and your Tonka toys...lol Original Tonka’s are worth a small fortune in mint condition, especially the bigger models.

I can picture you sitting in a sandbox playing with these and your Tonka toys...lol Original Tonka’s are worth a small fortune in mint condition, especially the bigger models. I've actually wanted a tonka truck for some time now. I am just so into cars its incredible. I eat sleep breathe cars, especially 20s-90s cars. If I had money like Leno or Escobar (another famous collector..) I'd have garages full. I never buy my cars on the internet, I like hunting in walmarts for them, and I never spend more than $5, most of my cars i spend only $1. So it doesnt put a huge dent in my expenses. I was thinking one day, as I walked through a car show in Las Vegas, I wish I could have all of these cars. I had a few HW at home, but nothing serious. Then it clicked, I can have all of these cars. So I took out the notebook I keep in my front pocket and began writing down all of my favourite cars in the lot. Then I started hunting in Wal-marts for them, and before I knew it, I had all 15 of them, albeit 1:64 scale. Now I have a fullscale problem. I am probably going to end up in diecast addicts anonymous some day.

I gave up on collecting stuff. I passed on all my mtg cards to my son. He is collecting them now.....muwhahaha.
I don't have the space for collections any more. I would rather just sit back and relax when not at work.

Its never under 80 degrees, and if you have problems living on 1400 US a month, you are doing something wrong! Granted I do not go to the bars (I can only drink a tiny bit of alcohol, my medications+alcohol = bad Juju) and I only eat Thai food. I eat for $3 or less per day! I have been going to Thailand since 2004. I am on disability too. Most foreigners throw away money in Thailand on the drink and eating foreign food. I buy all of my food from street carts and from food courts inside of malls and grocery stores.

I don't believe I said how much we live on, but would certainly go broke with all the equipment I would need to be mobile. My point was that I don't care about money. My kids can deal with the house (paid off), 7 thousand books. Several thousand comics, railroad items, 1000 ceramics, too many thousands baseball, wrestling, football, basketball cards, about a thousand double vintage, ancient and colonial coins, magazines, pulp, miniature cars. Where I to go anywhere it would be to Bhutan or Kathmandu to get away from all this

When my father passed 12 years ago he had boxes and boxes of die cast cars. I still have them in the garage. I think I'll go look to see what's in there. I still have my Matchbox cars from the 60's. Think I'll dig them up too. Lionel trains still in original boxes. Maybe it's time to let it all go as kids today don't appreciate these things if it's not an app.

I do too, with two bad hips, a shoulder surgery gone awry, degenerative joint disease in both feet and ankles, and the worse one is the spinal stenosis with radiculopathy. You just have to do what you can with what you have been given in life. Since I was discharged out of the military, I've had to downscale my life quite considerably. I learn to live good with less. When you widdle life down to its bare essentials, its amazing how much excess we live with in today's society. For me $1 diecast cars are a small luxury, literally a small luxury, that I can afford.

I still have all of my Hot Wheels, Matchbox and Johnny Lightning cars from the 1960's. Every last one was played with...some are chipped up a bit...handed them down to my boy...maybe he'll hand them down as well.

Yeah the diecast car hobby is definitely not as big among the youngsters as it was in my generation, sadly. Also if you look at most of the new hotwheels nowadays theyre not even weird cars, theyre strange inventions, more toyish. But I will say this, HW (and even moreso, Johnny Lightening) has been great to us loyal fans by continuing to release real scale models of real cars.
I was super excited when I found out that my new girlfriend's son is into collecting diecast cars! I just bought him one of those 5 for $5 packs. He's into newer stuff than I am. There is, however, an 85 Honda CR-X in this gift pack. Too cool!

I like that '58 Fury ... good color. Yeah the reason I picked it is because its the same colour as the original 55/56 Fury, eggshell white with the gold trim. That is actually my dream car!

Didn't realy collect 'em but had a lot of 'em back in the early '60s and think I've still got a box with the few I have left in it in some closet. I liked the Dinkey cars better as they were bigger and had more detail!

I liked the Dinkey cars better as they were bigger and had more detail! I like the bigger cars too like ERTL but I have never collected them much because they just take up too much room. I have hundreds and hundreds and I always live in really tiny rooms and apartments so its just not conducive to my living situations. I have thought about building a little 1:64 or 1:72 town to put some of the ones I have loose in, however.

I have that hearse too. Nice additions. I still have a bunch of Hot Wheels from childhood including a few redlines. I still occasionally collect old school Cadillac 1:64th scales. Here’s some of my Cadi’s covered in buffer dust and nicotine. free picture upload

I am a major Frank fan. Even DJed a Frank Sinatra Night once. Give this guy a try. I am pasting only the song. The full appearance on the talent show shows him a little cocky and almost not believed. Then he starts singing and this is what you get
