Hi friends,
I have been looking for a Royal Jamaica to bring back old memories for some time now. Just a single one. If anyone has a vintage RJ, I'd happily drop you a cigar in the mail for you to enjoy as well. I have lots of Fuentes. I really miss RJ... and I wasn't even in the loop when they briefly brought them back out into the market a few years ago. Were the new RJs still grown in Jamaica? How did they compare?
Thanks

I doubt that I still have one in my humidors. If I do not reply again, it means my doubt is true.

Yo unkno
I missed this thread the first time around, so apologies for the necrobump. RJ (original ones) was my go-to for decades, and it was their demise that drove me to the forums to search for the last few boxes in the world. And that was how I discovered pipe forums. That, in turn, educated me that my first foray into pipes was done all wrong in many ways. And now that I've been pipestering in earnest, my cigars have sat idle for years.
In answer to your request whether the reissue of RJ was similar to the original - sadly, no. Not even close.

Im new around here, but I think I have a couple of the original Royal Jamaican cigars in my stock. They are around 20 years old, they arent from the re-release. Ill take a look and reply.

To answer your question, I do not think that the re-release of RJ were grown in Jamaica. I too enjoyed them "back in the day"

I'll gladly trade you 2 boxes of real cohiba club 20s for however many Royal Jamaicans you think that may be worth.
