I just bought these three BBB Christmas pipes from this pipe restorer pipe friend of mine and I really can't afford them this month, but I simply couldn't resist. I got them for a song and as my singing voice peels potatos, they were pretty cheap. If I only buy stuff I can afford, I'd never get anything.
The two lower pipes are from 1982 and 1985, but on the upper one, the year stamp is unreadable. I tried to find it on the net, but no luck. Does anybody recognize the shape/year..?

Jesper, those are three outstanding BBB Christmas series pipes, congratulations and may you get many years of smoking pleasure from your acquisition đź‘Śđź‘Ťđź‘Ť My advice is to send the photo above to rebornpipes.com/ you might get the help your looking for on that first pipe pictured, good luck.

Thanks, Ted, also for the tip on asking Steve Laug. Information on BBB's Christmas pipes is virtually non-existing on the net, but I'll also ask this great new pipe friend I got. I've visited him twice and I honestly think that he's got more pipes than The Danish Pipe Shop. Pipes simply everywhere; he's a walking encyclopedia regarding English, Irish and Danish pipes and he knows everybody in the Danish pipe world and more than a few English and Irish pipe people, from way back. I just took some photos of a small bit of his pipe collection and for that small piece of work, he gifted me four old, unsmoked BBB pipes, two Best Make, one Own Make and one Ultonia.
(Sorry about my rant. I just got carried away there).

Heck, nothing like hearing a positive rant. Your a lucky man to have been gifted all of the pipes you mentioned. Enjoy them all in good health đź‘Śđź‘Ťđź‘Ť PS DOES HE WANT ME TO SING HIM A Lullaby from the USA for a week...lol

Thanks very much,Walkman, LL, James and Ted, for your kind words. Ted, I don't think that you should sing to him; he's a nice bloke and I do not want to run the risk of him refusing to sell me any more pipes.

Thanks very much for the link. BBB started the Chistmas pipes in 1957 and only the first few ones had shape numbers.
My 1959 has a shape no., but my 1965 doesn't. Besides, the 722 has an oval shank whereas mine has a round one. I was just told by the walking pipe encyclopedia, that the pipe in question is from 1996.

Well done. It might be good to cultivate your friendship with your “Walking Encyclopedia”. Learn all you can from him. His knowledge needs to be passed on.
