I've met hundreds of pipe smokers over the years (though not many lately)..Very few if any wanted to just talk about pipes and tobacco. When I come here I feel like I'm in a room full of pipe smokers talking about a variety of topics. It's seems to be as close as I get to the real thing these days.I wish that pipe smoking was as common as it used to be,and that we pipe smokers were still respected as the intellectuals that we are.We are each learned in different areas and we can learn from and help each other. This place is a pipe smoking forum. It's about more than that though..Just one of the reasons I come here..Now I have to go shave.

It's a truly blessed place. To come here and seek advice on pipe issues and then from there discuss breakfast means you're among friends.

This is an excellent pipe forum, JMHO. Everyone has something to learn, even those veteran pipe smokers. It’s great too also read the many interesting posts. I’ve been part of a few forums in the last four years, but for me this one has been my favorite. Just a bunch of good people without that “ nasty negativity “! No attacking other members posts or comments, thank God No NASTY PM’s!!! Which I’ve seen in the past, think I’ll be staying for quite a while👌👍👍

I agree with all of the above, and am pleased to see a number of younger fellows interested in pipe/tobacco culture.

I'm just sorry that "Younger fellows" are now the 30 somethings and 40's crowd.

...as the intellectuals that we are. We are..? I honestly think that my father would laughed his arse to shreds, if someone had regarded him as an intellectual because he smoked a pipe. Einstein smoked a pipe; I smoke a pipe and the comparison stops right there.
When that is said, I agree wholeheartedly; this is truly a great place. If I haven't written it before, I'll write it again. This forum is like spending quality time in a gigantic smoking lounge with a lot of great, very knowledgeable and extremely kind pipe friends.

I fall into the “Since you cannot dazzle with brilliance, baffle with BS” category.

Walt I would give just about anything if I could manage a trip to your home for breakfast but traveling more than an hour or two is out of the question. However, one day we both will be at the Wedding Table having the best time ever. I’m looking forward to it. AJ

I fall into the “Since you cannot dazzle with brilliance, baffle with BS” category. Then you really should try the Samuel Gawith/TDPS co-laboration 'B.S. Flake' if you haven't already.

Yup, I'm with you guys. This is truly a great place and feel like I could invite all you to breakfast and have a great time. I'd love to have a real American breakfast; hash brown, rashers of bacon, sausages, eggs, a huge stack of pancakes smothered in maple syrup and whatever else that belongs. I have some American cookbooks with recipes, but it will not be the same in my dining room as it'll be in yours.
Florida is only 8 hours away from Copenhagen.

I was very reluctant to join this forum. I feel a member has a responsibility to be active and participate. Sometimes my health issues prevent my participation for several months at the time. Our brother, JimInks, kept begging me on bended knee for almost two years to please join. He even promised me two tins of Rotary tobacco, which I haven’t received, Lol! Seriously this forum is what I believe a forum should be. A place where those sharing a common interest may come, learn, teach, discuss, and share ideas without malice or hidden agendas while making new friends and enjoying the fellowship. Now if I can just convince Jim to get off those two tins of Rotary... AJ

Florida is only 8 hours away from Copenhagen. Not to be Hifalutin But i do killer breakfasts southwestern style with all the mentioned ingredients. Copenhagen> Phoenix is only 8 inches on Google maps, and Florida doesn't have the Grand Canyon, Sedona, or Mogollon rim. If you want to be chewed up by mosquitos, Fend off chiggers, sweat to the point you feel like a hard ridden rented mule, while fighting alligators, Florida is a great destination though.

My friend, AJ mentioned this forum one day so I came over and looked around. It's alot like that other forum was 4 or 5 years ago so I've joined up to lend my old codger experience as well as learning from others again. Their's quite a few familiar faces who left over there and have come over here which is nice ! Onward thru the fog !!

Interesting that JimInks invited some of you here. I glad he did, but he's not been around as much as he was a few months ago (outside of ways). I hope all is OK.

But I check in and read,I get a laugh here and there. It helps to over come "The Voices",meaning the inner thoughts and outer stressors. It is the ongoing conversations that keep this place alive and helpful on so many levels. And all I got from Jim was a restraining order.Seems the invite didn't include his stash of Strang.

WOW, what a mischaracterization of Florida! We have beautiful beaches and last time I checked there were none in Arizona; at least not any ocean front beaches. True, it's warm and humid in the summer but absolutely wonderful here from mid September through May. Most people come during those months and enjoy our weather immensely. We have Disneyworld and hundreds of other attractions. Much greater attractions than a huge hole in the ground or looking a desert landscapes. 😂
Arizona is land locked and a scorching desert with temperatures reaching 115 degrees. While shopping for groceries and leaving you car in an Arizona parking lot will allow you to cook breakfast on the hood of your vehicle when you come out; breakfast Arizona style.
So, if you like scorching weather, bats, scorpions and being land locked, then Arizona is the place for you.
Forget about fresh fish or even going fishing.
All kidding around aside, Arizona is beautiful and I do like the dry climate. However, I've never heard anyone in this country or around the world say, "we can't wait go on our Arizona vacation". 😂👍

I've read all the pipe boards daily for over 30 plus years. I download the digests overnight in the dial up days but I can still get as much solid pipe info from a 30 year old issue of TPSE that I've read 20 times before but the TPSE isn't on my phone so I keep coming back. I'm constantly scrolling through an endless cycle of Pipe, Cigar and F1 boards and the more popular Facebook groups all day every day plus responding to countless email groups with some of the top collectors in the world. I don't go just to where I'll get a like or ataboy, I'm everywhere.
