Yes, I believe it has gone by the wayside. I was there Friday last, and it was gone this morning when I checked in.

I would love to chat with you guys but I can't type fast enough. One finger doing the hunt and peck doesn't get it.

Deb Collins ran a very nice PipeChat at one time. She's a great gal, does have husband with major health issues. Agree it was always low volume for most part. Glad to hear site is up again......thanx for the notice.

I don’t know what happened, I was just on the site a few days ago but I believe Deb and Earl have new lives and there was a public announcement awhile ago that the guy who owned the site stopped paying the bills long ago and it was only a matter of time before the host would delete the site.

I never checked it out, but assumed (apparently erroneously) that it was an audio/video chat. Since I don't have a microphone or cam attached to my computer, I just stayed away. If it starts working again, I might check in.....

Sorry to hear this, people. I'm never awake at the same time as when the chat room gets going, and I'm not sure I'd have much to say. Still, I hope it's back up soon.

Just to clarify, it's not our chat site that is down. The tab at the top will still take you to our own, Briar Patch pipe chat.
Pipe Chat (pipechat.one) was another forum that existed, which I was also a member of. There was a mass exodus several years ago and the site has not been the same since. I reached out to the site owner about a year ago and offered to buy the domain, the site, and all the content, as an opportunity to have the membership there become integrated with our site. The negotiation did not go very well and I got the impression that they wanted way more for their mailing list than it was worth, so I declined to make an offer.
It's sad to see it go, but I think it was destined to happen. The downside is that there was some AMAZING content there from people like Bob Runowski. Luckily, I managed to copy all of his "Morley's Musing's" posts awhile ago, so they are not lost.

Justin, thanks for the clarification, I thought they were talking about the chat tab on this site. That was extremely nice of you to make an attempt to purchase the domain. Those members interested in chatting can start right here in the BriarPatch chat room. Mailing lists are not worth as one might think today, they are fairly easy too also acquire. I greatly appreciate all the time you put into keeping this forum up and running so well👍👍👍

again, probably lucky me. I was at Deb's PipeChat & Sparks was there. We knew the above was not much longer to exist but Sparks posted the hi-lited address to here & the Patch. I keep both in separate listings in "favorites" & seems to work better for my techno uses...( very primitive but bests I can handle)
Bravo Justin as usual!

When I made the initial post here it was just for general information.I didn't realize that it would cause confusion.I apologize for that.I'm glad it has been cleared up.

The demise of Pipechat was fostered by factions engaging in Political Diatribes and sanctioning those who did not agree with them. The next blow was by the total absence of Earl the chief moderator, owing to problems in his personal life. Couple those events with an absentee owner residing in England and a good forum went down the tubes.
