Sorry to above. Half asleep, but couldn't let an Aro thread go Sam, if you did like Captain Black, give MacBaren 7 Seas Royal a try. It's actually a flavor boost from CB. No vanilla, deep dark fruit. Pleasant all the way through Night all. antb and sidstavros Good morning when you get here. Will be snoozing early. David

Another aromatic that is apparently not cased in 'stuff' is MacBaren Cube Silver (the only one I've tried). It's a lovely blend.

You might try Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic. I’m not a big aro smoker, but this baccy is part of the regular rotation. It’s not goopy at all. I get a hint of caramel from it. Unlike some aros, they don’t overdo it. You know you’re smoking tobacco. A fellow can try a pouch to see if he likes it.

Maybe good ole Mac Baren Scottish Mixture? It's the one aro I smoke regularly. Not too sweet, honey-on-toast flavor. Very bready. It can burn a little hot, but if smoked gently it's great.

I've tried a number of aromatics over the last year trying to find one that my wife would like. She didn't like any of them and the only ones I liked enough to buy again thus far are Lane 1Q and BCA. I still have several that I haven't tried yet (including the Cult blends, Molto Dulce, etc), so that may still change.

I enjoy a 50/50 mixture of 1Q and BCA. That is a mix that I like as well, but my favorite is a mix of 1/3 Five Brothers and 2/3 1-Q.

Speaking of aromatics, I just bought two.
Sutliff Vanilla Custard - What a room note. Everyone in the house is pleased. VERY vanilla flavour, but there is some good tobacco notes here too. Some good burley flavour coming through here, as well as Virginias. The black cavendish is just sort of doing a balancing act with the vanilla. All in all, a good smoke, but one that I reserve for the company of people who aren't huge fans of the smell of tobacco.
Cornell & Diehl Founding Fathers - I haven't tried this yet, but I'll let you know when I do. It looks and smells great.

Does anybody other then myself smoke Dan Tobacco’s Blue Note? I regard this aromatic as one of the finest on the market today. The toppings are as follows......Bourbon, Fruit - Citrus, and Vanillawhich is not over bearing but in the background. It’s an aromatic I recommend 👍👍

I’ve smoked a few more aromatics, without success. Since I really enjoyed HU Bahia Orange, I want to try Exotic Orange next. I’m on several ‘notify when available’ lists. So hopefully before the decade is out I’ll have a tin.

Don’t feel bad, what SP’s had in stock was Exotic Passion, which I smoked a few bowls of, it’s not the same as Rattray’s Exotic Orange 🍊.

Well I would say, from my first bowl of Founding Fathers, that this is a good aromatic for people who don't like aromatics. This has a very nice and robust burley flavour with subdued black cavendish notes. Then you get a nice, mild fruity (pomegranate and something else is here too) flavour, and the room note is awesome. This is a good tobacco for the burley fan who doesn't want to offend his non-smoking friends or love interest. I recommend.

What are your thoughts on the other "seas" blends by Mac Baren? Black, Red, Gold, Regular, etc?

Still amazed at how many people walk in to the shop and grab the 1Q.
