Remember their first debut at the West Palm Beach Rock Festival brought to you by the young man from Mich. or Wis. (I forgot which...was big in apples) and the sheriff of Palm Beach Co. at the time. Forgot his name but crooked as the day is long.

Mark Farner was 20 years old when he wrote all of those great songs.
Many years ago I saw him in a small club in western Michigan without the rest of the band. I'm not sure what the deal was, but before he came on they held a wet t-shirt contest. Some guy behind me kept yelling "Skin to Win!"
Whenever I hear Grand Funk the first thing that pops in my head is "Skin to Win!" I even say it out loud once in a while. It has made for some awkward explanations. Ha!

I used to play their album on my Realistic record player wired up to the 75 watt Silvertone guitar amp when I was a kid. Haven't heard of them in years.

Good tunes! Haven't heard them in a while, but so glad I just did. Took me back about 15 years to hanging out in my buddy's room...

ronv69, your doctor is telling you your stable @ a GFR OF <28? My last GFR was <29 and I’ve been on a very low protein diet. My creatinine and bun levels also poor.

Don, thanks. I didn't even know they recorded back then. I loved their cover of Locomotion, but my fave was Bad Time to Be in Love, both a few years later
