Any events in the Houston Texas area The Houston Pipe Club meets one Friday a month at a cigar shop on Westheimer. Web site or Facebook should turn up on Google. I don't know of anything else.

I'm in Spring and a new cigar shop opened up in Old Town Spring called BlackHouse Cigars. I'm sure we'd be welcome there. Here's there web site. blackhousecigars.com

"Old Town" Spring was just the woods behind my aunts house before they hauled in all the old buildings. My cousins and I spend untold hours harassing the birds and squirrels with our BB guns, slingshots, and bows and arrows. We built tree forts, dug tunnels, and just in general all - American - boyed the heck out of it. Bicycle paths were a shortcut to the old ice house that they tore down. I have boycotted the area since it became "Old", but I don't see any point in continuing. I will have to check this place out.

At least it's in Fort Worth and not Dallas. Maybe worth a 5 hour drive. For most of us it's easier to get to Fort Worth than the 6000 block of Westheimer that time of day. Us north side guys don't find it worth it. Also, that's a very rich neighborhood, and we can't wear our bib overalls.

At the time I didn't appreciate it, but looking back, yeah, it was great. Especially when compared to the lives of kids these days.
