Good grief that's scary stuff. When I was about 10 the plug that went into the vacuum cleaner fell apart and exposed the live parts which looked a little bent. I decided to straighten them up while the other end was still in the wall and switched on. I got a lovely fuzzy feeling all over my body and fell over. After that I decided never to do that again. It’s best to unplug ANY device from the wall outlet when working on it....you and electricity don’t mix....lol. I won’t replace a circuit breaker without shutting down the main!!

Doing what I've done for most of my life I tend to get bit by electricity on occasion. Ive been very fortunate in that getting a mild zap and scream is the worst I've had from every current to 440. Worst mistake I made was testing resistance across a live 600 amp 440 circuit. That poor multimeter never knew what hit it, I was coated with a fine carbon that was the insulation and end of my probe up to the elbow, temporarily blinded as if welding without a mask and had ringing ears but was completely unharmed. I've been a lot more observant about multimeter settings since then, as that one just about made me wish I had worn my brown pants.
