I am considering buying this pipe for myself. Does anyone have any experience with this one? Good smoker, quality? Thanks!

No experience with that particular pipe, but it is hard to go wrong with a Savinelli.

No experience with that particular pipe, but it is hard to go wrong with a Savinelli. This pipe just ticks the boxes for everything I love in a pipe.. Straight stem, nice nickel band, pot shape, AND its a nice rusticated briar.

They are also on sale now (along with Venere's) at SP for a healthy discount.

Go for it. Savs rarely disappoint. You may kick yourself later if don't act on it.

The problem is this summer I went through a sort of mid-life crisis where I decided I must have more straight stemmed pipes. A year ago I would have been all over that pipe. Its a beauty, indeed.

Congratulations. I'd like to have at least 1 sav and 1 Stanwell in my collection before I die. Neither brand is high priced today and both are excellent smokers!!! Put one on your Holiday Wish Listππ Both brands are made in Italy and for a production line pipe you can not beat the quality of their pipes, even the models costing around $100.00 U.S. dollars. Todayβs rate: 100 United States Dollar equals 76.13 Pound sterling as of 7/23/2018 at 6:44am EST, USA. WOW......has the pound/Lire dropped drastically since I lived overseas

Stanwells are around Β£69 pounds for their cheapest models, which would suit me fine. I don't know the difference between that and a pipe of 3-4 times the price, and I doubt I ever will unless I'm gifted ones in someone's will (and even then they'd need to come with a label saying that it's a high-end pipe). So a Β£69 Stanwell would be grand for me...I'm investing in tobacco though so I'm in no rush.

A pocket pipe would be great. And I agree, this looks like a perfect specimen.
