I store in pint Mason jars, as you know they hold about 2oz pretty well. My question is is it bad to cram 4oz into the pint Mason jar?

I use pints as well. I put 4 oz per jar. Normally packed a little tight. After I put the lid on, I shake it up a bit and then it goes into its resting place.

I will put a maximum of 3 .oz in a pint size jar. It’s best to leave room for natural fermentation and aging...JMHO
I never firmly pack a jar👍👍

I do the same, pressing it down with the heel of a hammer or another jar of a smaller diameter.

As noted some leave a small amount of space in the jars but I usually pack them tight and so far I haven’t discovered any problems. The tobacco still ferments but maybe at a slower rate.

I'm with Ted on this one. I think that leaving airspace is better.
