I managed to score few oz of 3 year old Comoy's coins. Smoked it in MM Patriot. My only comparison is PS LBF. It seems I prefer Comoy's. Have you got a favorite coin?

Motzek Strang and Gawith Hogarth Brown Bogie, but you cut your own coins.
Have you had LBF with age on it?
I am currently smoking some with 3 years age.... good when fresh, much better when the coins blacken!

Two years ago while at the pipe show here in NC there was a table set up by Comoy’s giving out free samples. One of my favorite coins is Cask No. 7 and this guy sitting down had plenty of large tins. Surprisingly not many pipe smokers around the table at the time because of a pipe raffle. The guy from Comoy’s was busy on his laptop and I told him “ in my lifetime I must have spent a few thousand dollars on Cask No.7 “. He said “ take as much as you like but I need the tins for inventory purposes “. I responded by asking him if I could use the Ziplock bags I’m carrying. I was surprised when he said “ fill’em all up I’ll be leaving soon “. He helped me fill four medium size Ziplock bags and once I arrived back home I filled 4 pint sized Mason jars for aging and about 4 .oz in a tray to enjoy fresh. I shook this gentleman’s hand with a tip, he refused to take it. Oh did I make out BIG at that show, two trips up and back to the car because of all the samples I acquired that day. At the door there were two people handing out red carrying totes with the Lane name stamped and a tin of Medal of Valor. All I said “ thank you, I’ve smoked this blend for a while now “. She opens the tote while it’s on my arm and throws 3 more tins inside and tells me, please don’t spread this around.👍👍👍

I've tried both Cask 7 and LBF fresh. Whilst they are similar in taste profile (same basic ingredients), LBF is less harsh that Cask 7. Having said that, at some point I did develop an affinity for Cask 7 that I never managed to develop for LBF. I've still got near 2oz of LBF (a lot for me) hanging around while Cask 7 is long gone.

LBF with 5 years on it is pretty darn good. Glad I have a couple of #'s.

Mac Baren Latakia Blend when I can find it but it's been discontinued for years and pretty much unobtanium. Aged Luxury Bullseye Flake and Escudo are standards. I haven't had either in a while. It may be time to crack some.

I have always enjoyed Comoy's blends for their distinctive tastes and high quality... Cask #'s 7 and 4 most notably.

Very true, Cask #7 needs a minimum of 5 years of aging. A much more pleasant and complex enjoyable smoke👍👍

Aged LBF....and Davidoff Flake Medallions for a richer taste.
