I don't think Seals and Crofts had this in mind when they penned the song....after I returned to the terminal from a Show Low run. During the monsoon season, the dust storms blow in before the rain hits.
I took my bath on Saturday, now I have to do it all over again!

Charlie, that’s brutal, how can you see? Did you have to pull over for a while. Be careful and go slow! Thanks for sharing the video and pictures now focus on the road👍👍

Man oh man that's terrible! I sure am glad I didn't have to drive in that mess but I'm sure your skill level is far superior to mine. Be safe and don't run over any morons.

Them pictures were taken from the yard...even though it was time to hit the time clock, the boss put me on inclement weather delay...overtime with a allowance to smoke my pipe in the office.
LBF is better for your health than desert dust.

Yeah, but when I saw the windshield washers of your truck I had no idea you already parked. Good for you, your boss has a brain! Plus getting paid overtime to smoke a pipe, who could ask for more👌👍

That was actually a video from the yard goat (A tractor with a hydraulic fifth wheel that backs trailers into the dock)...As soon as I closed the door after putting my stuff in on my personal car the winds blew in. Usually I am on the road when the nonsense hits.
That set of doubles was an otbound driver headed to El Paso....I told him, "Have fun on your run" He only had about 10, 000 pounds in each trailer.

That's crazy. The damage to that door is impressive.
I'm glad you weren't driving in that. Do many people keep on driving regardless?
The smart people see it coming and pull off in a safe area and wait it out, it typically blows through pretty quick. It got down to zero visibility last night.

I hear you. We just have blizzards here in Colorado too.
It's usually the heat, plants with thorns, and creepy crawlies with fangs and stingers which makes me say that, but the dust storms are something to see.
Having driven in blizzards in the Dakotas and Minnesota, I'll take a dust storm over your blizzard to be perfectly honest.
Yeah, I'll take the dust storms over the ice storms I encountered going through west Texas. Neither are any fun. Strange to be in an ice storm and come out of it like going through a curtain...the other side was sunny and bright.
Charlie that’s pretty scary! We don’t have anything like that here in NC. We have plenty of green and way too many people to hold our dust down. I can hardly believe how many people have moved into this State in the last 30 years. 30 years ago a man could step outside his house, cut the “cheese” , and not worry about having a neighbor complain. Maybe it’s time for a nap. 😴

The Tule fog in California’s San Joaquin Valley is no picnic either....when that valley gets socked in, it is pretty brutal, I had more close calls than I can remember. Sometimes we had black ice on roads and zero visibility...

You just need to move to Asheville, nobody’s living at the Biltmore, you might as well.

Charlie I would but the yard is a bit large for me to mow.

I used to live in Visalia Ca. and you're right tule fog ain't no joke. I can remember driving down Lovers Lane in the wee early morning hours and only being able to see one yellow stripe and the beginning of the next. I do sometimes miss that 1965 custom cab Chevrolet pick up truck.

wow!
the signs in the one photo reminds me of M.A.S.H.
She came in with a smile and a pipe. A study of contradictions, she seemed to understand more than most. Eyes shining with humor and a comforting, easy to talk to demeanor. She was a goddess in mortal skin. She raised a glass and said, "Confusion to the memory of Newton."
