Received. It somewhat reminds me of a block of C-4 from back in the day, doesn't look like anything to put in a pipe. Should I process it of put it back in the cellar? What should I do if the former?

I cut mine into 7 sections. I figured I could smoke some, gift some, trade some, etc. that way. I have 4 or 5 sections left and they are in the cellar in a mason jar. When it is time to smoke I shave off what I need. I try to do coins but end up with rubbed because I suck at it.

I left mine the way I received it, it’s stored in a large Mason jar. Some will slice and dice then jar it. I guess it’s a personal preference. I have from a number of years ago, I can’t believe that just a bit over 8.oz is now $80.00....nope I don’t need or want more at that price! Hope you enjoy a bowl or two and age some for the future 👌👍
PS It is easy to cut coins but the knife you use needs to have a flat grind with an extremely sharp edge. Takes some patience.

Sounds intriguing. Let us know what you end up doing.

If it's C-4 be careful.

Probably no worries but that's exactly what came to mind when I opened the box and pulled it out. Log is almost same exact size as a block, doesn't look like any tobacco I've ever smoked and thought WTF? Should be more fun. Appreciate the advice y'all. Pretty expensive on some charts but I've never had the pleasure and wanted to enjoy this one based on comments of others, top shelf stuff. Be happy to share some with others.

Another blend that has escaped me. With today’s cost it’s likely I’ll never know what I’ve missed. (Sigh)

I like PH tobaccos, but $80.00 is too much of a commitment. Were they to offer it @ the $40.00 level for a smaller amount, they might reel me in.

Mike^^^^^^^^^^ I too could not see spending my money that’s in my monthly budget on just over 8.oz of tobacco costing $80.00. I still have some from a few years back and the price at the time was much cheaper. Plus, I have many other tobacco’s that I much prefer👌👍

I bought two logs last summer. I divided the 500gm up into 5 mason jars; a 100gm hunk fits perfect in a 8oz mason jar. I shaved/chopped a little off and rubbed it out to have a couple bowls, but the rest has been in the cellar for about 14 months now. I got mine right after a SP restock notice and assumed it was fresh production. I prefer my tobacco with some age on it; especially Va and VaPer blends. Sometime in the next few months, I am probably due to pull out a jar and see if I think it's ready yet.

I'm going to work out a couple bowls for this weekend just for kicks and cellar the remainder based on comments. It would appear a better fit for a briar than a cob but I'll give both a try.

Pain to prepare and pricey, but we'll worth it on all fronts in my book. Enjoy!

2 years of age makes all the difference. It's good fresh and has some bite. But after 24 months in the basement it becomes smoother and sweeter. Going to me a monster in about 5 or so years.
I am going to coin the next log for storage and see if exposure to the air makes any difference in the jar.

Slice the log as thin as possible, makes a big difference......just takes patience, and the fun begins 👍
