Three Star Blue date on jar 2014
Pipe of choice: my Don Warren Morta Poker Pipe with a straight shank and stem. This pipe was made to my specifications, as far as the size of the bowl and chamber dimensions. Great smoker and well crafted. 👌👍

Well right when I wanted to break in my new Sav - I have come down with the seasonal sore throat. I've been waking up in the mornings unable to breathe out of my nostrils, so I think I have some of the post-nasal drip going on.
So tonight, I am dipping General Snus Original. And just enjoying looking at this Savinelli - its amazing looking at this oval shaped bowl. I'll break it in, in due time.

After a wait of almost 2 years I'm launching a Root Briar 5117! (yes, it took that long to get it here!) with some oldish McClelland 2010 with some hot black coffee, just inside the shed to shield the new bowl from the nice breeze here, listening to Tedeschi-Trucks Band (somewhat softly in the background! I plan on this bowl taking two hours to smoke -very slow and easy. Congratulations! If that number means what I think it does, that would be a group 7 bowl size? I can get an hour out of my group 3. Break it in easy. Good luck and great smoking.

Had abit of a hassle logging on this morning. Got a message "Your login session key was invalid." Reset with a new password and I'm back in. Hope other members don't experience the same problem.
Started off this smoking Thor's Day with some old Rattray's Old Gowrie in a Capitol straight billiard. Coffee x 2.

Smoked some HH Burley Flake in the Vauen Big Billiard with an Old Fashioned made with James Oliver Rye Whiskey along side about 3 hours ago.
Still haven't decided if I want another bowl to smoke or not. (I feel a little tired. Wait, did I just say that!? Blasphemy!!)

My last bowl wasn’t quite doing it. I didn’t sense any of it’s usual flavor and/or taste. I put the pipe down, attended a meeting and am now using the delayed gratification technique.
HU Dockworker in a Larsen trumpet with an acrylic stem.
I tamped it tight, and am taking more time between puffs. It’s slightly better. I think this smokes best in a narrow bowl. It’s not awful, i just have higher expectations.
