Loading up my no name baby briar for my follow-up smoke with 3 year jar-aged & stoved PS Luxury Bullseye Flake, another triple-shot blended whiskey, and more stupid mindless tv... Haha! Sounds like either from the TV, or the whisky (or both), you'll be "stupid and mindless" before the nights through.

Thanks Ron, yup, a real wax cotton wick. I wanted it to look authentic. Even drilled a small hole on the top center of the candle and used 2 stage epoxy so the wick stays in place. Also the wick was lit for about 3 seconds and I blew it out, it’s also epoxied in place. Looks okay in the pictures, but much better in hand. The briar I purchased from a pipe show, I was told it’s 75 plus year old Algerian briar, found in a storage garage that belonged to Ben Wade. Either what I was told is true or this seller at the pipe show was one of the best BS artists I’ve ever met. Another customer who was next to me said....” trust me, I purchased 2 blocks from this seller and I believe him “! Could have been a duo con team....can you tell I don’t trust many people....lmao!!! The pipe is an outstanding smoker, I’m happy...that’s all that counts!

The story about the past of Ben Wade is checkered as well...so who knows!?!?!? This seller was at 2 different shows, other sellers believed it was briar discovered in storage bins in an old garage that belonged to family. Do I care, not really....it smokes superbly, so I know it’s very old briar. Almost impossible to get the bowl hot, I’ve tried once I broke in the chamber.

Finished breaking down the small tree this morning out in the backyard. Chopped and everything fit well in the debris dumpster. A little raking here and there, and its a done deal for now. Broke down the Charatan's Make Perfection 489DC this afternoon. Cleaned the stem and then placed it in a 50/50 Oxyclean/water solution to soak (1400 hrs/pst), then gave the bowl a lite ream, pipe cleaner placed into the mortise, Kosher salt into the bowl followed by several drops of 91% alcohol. We'll see how this all looks in 24hrs. In the meantime, some Grand Coupier Boneyard in the Comoy Blue Riband 182 Billiard
