GQ Tobacco's Askwith Kake, freshly thrown together by me the week of 7/6/2018
Pipe of choice: restored to mint condition a Chubby Olde London pot with a slight bend to this wide comfortable stem. A really nice old piece of Algerian briar makes this pipe an excellent smoker👌👍👍

Arango Balkan Supreme in my #1 iron horse stack. Glass of mediocre chardonnay on the side. The tobacco improves the chardonnay.

It's been a bitter sweet week.
Sweet that I had a successful trip to Toronto and found time to enjoy a couple of nice Cuban Cigars.
Bitter that last weekend our youngest son Nick moved up to Raleigh to start his junior year of college.
Sweet that he's starting to make his way in the world.
Bitter that yesterday our baby, Jenni, moved to Boone to start her Sophomore year @ App. State.
Sweet that Blondie and I are finally Empty Nesters.
Bitter that Blondie and I are already Empty Nesters.
Today's round of golf, despite the rain showers at the end, was a nice time with 3 of my friends. Several 858's and Cuban Cohiba's were enjoyed, along with a few bowls of 10 YO MM965.
This evenings piping pleasures started with a wonderful bowl of Butera's Royal Vintage Latakia No. 1 in a no-name shellbriar bent billiard, sippin a Corona.
Pipe is all finished and I'm contemplating the next bowl.
Cheers

About the same thing I did with Tsuge Raijin this afternoon, except it met the firepit. I didnt want it to ruin my compost. I thought I chunked it a while back but I found it the last time I organized my cellar.

HAHAHA. The first bowl of that I smoked I thought "hmmm this is different." It sat for about a month and I tried it again and it was AWFUL! All 3 puffs that I took tasted like arse and ammonia!
Thankfully puffing on C&D Bayou Night in my Peterson 999 Dracula (sandblasted)
