Good morning to you all. This first smoke of the morning; McConnell's 'Pure Orient' in a GBD no. 719 - Club.
I checked the bottom of Qasim and he was stamped 'D.R.G.M. 3053'. I found out that it stands for 'Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster', a registration of the design of an item, not a patent registration. It was in use from 1891 till 1946, where 'Reich' was substituted by 'Bundes-'. A registration was valid for three years. The point that I am trying to make, is that said Qasim is much older than I thought. (Another tidbit of useless information).

I got home wrecked after a doctors appointment and slept for about 6 hours so I am up late again. Repeat with another doctor tomorrow. Joy.
I am unwinding with a last pipe in a particularly unusual way for me - a light aromatic. There's still LOTS of tobacco flavour here, however. Cornell & Diehl's Founding Fathers in a Peterson 606 Aran Fishtail with a vulcanite stem. My drink is Gatorade G2 Low Sugar Fruit Punch.

Good evening, you all. An early late-evening smoke; Red Orlik in a Jensen no. 08; a Georg Jensen made solely for the US market. Lucky you US residents. It's an excellent smoker and lucky me, because I got hold of one.
Jesper, you are the only one I know who has a Georg Jensen pipe. I have one from the early 50's that is a bent author shape...is a fantastic smoker...one of my absolute best. Anyone else have a Georg Jensen pipe? A Georg Jensen from the early 50s, you say..? The factory was founded in 1954, so you must have one of the earliest made. Both nice and interesting. Georg Jensen was one of the most popular Danish brands in the 50s and 60s; up there with Stanwell and Kriswill. I have 16 Georg Jensen pipes and I'm extremely happy with each and every one of them. The shape no. 35 is one of the few pipes, I can use for fold'n'stuffing flakes without getting in trouble.

I've always wanted a Danish pipe. I enjoy tobaccos blended in Denmark very regularly. Your country seems to have a decently good pipe culture. What brand would you recommend me if I was looking for a good sized SLIGHTLY bent Dublin?

I guessed that he meant his cob, since this i a nice forum, but my imagination tends to run wild too. Especially just before breakfast, when I'm hallucinating with hunger.

Back in the 50s and 60s, Denmark had the world's largest amount of pipe smokers in relation to the size of her population. I was a child in the 50s and all the males smoked a pipe, or so it seemed. You never go wrong with Stanwells or any other Danish brands from the 50s and 60s, and I can highly recommend the Danish dealer in used pipes, William Lundsgaard. He has a huge selection and his prices are low.
Good hunting.

Sweet kilarney in a mm legend Rob Roy.
I'm detecting something in this that isn't there in other tobaccos I've tried. I can notice a difference, but I can't put my finger on what it is.

First pipe of the day...a bowl of Butternut Burley in a Georg Jensen bent author. Second pipe of the day, a bowl of Anni Kake and B.B. Alamo in a GBD Virgin bent scoop.
Watched the last fledgling Cardinal get pushed out of the nest by mother. He is now feeding right next to mom...rain has stopped. The Lord has kept him and his sister (don't really know their sex) safe from the rain and thunderstorms that have been with us for a week. Fun to watch Mother Nature and Her children. Better than watching humans.
