can no longer afford to travel, but for those attending, should be great show.
If Linwood Hines is still around, somebody mention I'm at this site. For those who've not heard me post of same....my name goes in infamy. At CORPS '89, at 67mins into the smoking contest, my sponsored Sav 2nd burst into flames, bowl on floor, stem in my pee-laughing mouth. Furious "throat slash" motions signal "out". Others running with pitchers of water to douse the critter....a circus into itself. (finished 2nd, winner probably went couple mins longer & hope he enjoyed it all). No I didn't need a change of underwear, but close call
Have fun all Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY

DEFINITELY check out restaurants in the neighborhood of your hotel - there are some very nice ones within a short drive. Everything from fast food to gourmet. Besides the before listed Extra Billy's BBQ, just a mile or less are a variety of everyehting from pizza to fine steaks. Check out The Boathouse, Bonefish Grill, Crab Louie's, Awful Arthurs, Ruth Chris, and many chain restaurants.
Don't be discouraged about the area getting close to the Sutliff factory. It is an industrial area - with a long history around it.
Y'all all have a safe trip - and we'll see you Friday night (at EBBBQ) or at the Gathering Saturday!

That was so cool! you obviously determined to win -smoking wood all the way thru the bowl! (or someone put an exploding "load" at the bottom of your pipe..... Back then, we worried so much about such "possible injuries" and had drills with the members before the shows. Yea, no kidding. Miss seeing you - and others too. That's why we are having this GATHERING - to bring back our ol' friends, and make new ones! Can't say that we will be able to do it every year - but we are all stoked that it's happening. Best to you old friend! Linwood
