Was wondering how you guys rotate your tobaccos between everyday use and cellar. I have about 10 tins/jars in rotation at any one time that consist of all varieties of tobacco depending on mood. Then as the tins/jars empty I pull a close equivalent from the cellar and start it up. Do you guys do something similar?

There have been so many good sales lately, it's beginning to be an avalanche. I have my regular rotation as you describe, supplemented by new visitors vying for a spot.

That is about what I do. If a jarred blend was not a hit for me, or I have grown tired of it, I will fill it with something different. I have duplicate jars of some of my favorites that I bought in bulk. I try to limit open tins to three or four at a time.

I like having a few tins because I can easily grab them and take with me, while the jars sit at the house.

I have one tin or jar of each blend in my buffet cabinet. As I exhaust that blend, I stack the empty container to the side.
After a couple of months, I gather the empties and go to the deep cellar (armoire cabinet), and replenish the buffet cellar.
At least in theory, that is how I am going forward.

Having a good variety I smoke my oldest tobacco first. This allows the newest blends to age.

Ummmmm...right now I have access to 31 different tobacco’s opened, easy access to without opening another tin or jar. It’s a bit to many, but I do go through them quick enough 👍👍

I've only been in the pipe smoking hobby for about a year now, I have a 2 year old tin of Cult Embassy, but that's about it. Most is less than a year old. Just gotta take the time to let them sit.

I'm very bad...I just open all my tins or pouches and smoke through them. And the rate I smoke they'll last forever (or go off), but I'm ok with that.
But each month when I get another new blend, I can't help but try it out.

Not really a cellar as much as its half a drawer. I open a tin and try to smoke it through before opening anything else.

My smokes don't really ever get pulled from a handful or more of choices, or "rotations" as we say... rather, I pick from hundreds of choices depending on whatever might tickle my fancy.

I agree, life is to darn short, as we get older the “ years seem too also fly by “!! Enjoy life today, for one never knows what tomorrow might bring!

I count 13 currently “open” in short term storage from which I’m smoking. Around 2012 or 2013, I probably had almost 100 open tins at the high water mark. Pretty nuts but a lot of fun. Good times.
The final cellar has been set for a couple years and aging now. I just smoke what I like when I want these days.

I have a bookcase with 87 glass jars that seal...from that I pull what I want for that moment. Pretty much all my tobacco is at least 5 years old. My cellar stays closed and ready for use when I run out of something in the glass jars.

Usually around 10-15 open at any time. However, with the new Yellow and Green 3 Nuns I just recieved, there's 2 more now open.

I can't do this although I tried last night with some Sutliff Old Professor, I have to have a variety for the most part I have a couple of bulk blends that I can always break out if the current blend turns in to a slog like with Standard Mixture Mellow but the real benefit to how I do it, I feel, is how you let yourself get used to and develo a liking for a blend. For example, based off the first few bowls, I'd have thought that Presbyterian was hum-drum and London Dock a great aromatic but give them both a week in focus and you start to realize the attraction of one versus the other. That and its less of a storage issue. Heh. I guess the real negative is hearing about all these wonderful blends everyone else is trying and not getting around to acquiring and trying them. 50g really can go a long way.

Right now I have 28 jars that I'm currently smoking out of. Seems like a lot, I know. But some of them only have enough left for a bowl or 2. They are normally 2-4 oz purchases or tins that I have opened. When I run across a blend that I really like, I buy a pound, or more, and put it up.
Right now I'm not going to pull anymore out of the "cellar" until I dwindle down the 28 jars. But I will continue to buy bulk favorites, along with tins and pouches, to cellar.
It's only a matter of time before they stop online tobacco sales, my local "tobacconist" is non existant, so I need to stock up while I can.
