They lost almost all of their chew. They feel more like wax. Why the heck do companies always have to go and mess with a perfectly good thing? It's infuriating.

Oh no, say it isn’t so!!! I purchase the big box from Costco when it’s on the shelf. It was also one of my favorite dogs most cherished treats. In the Summer I keep some in the refrigerator. Hope it’s a bad batch as opposed to changing their recipe!!!

Apparently some company named Mondelez bought them from Cadbury, and changed the recipe. Jerks.

The last few bags of sour patch kids that I've bought have had the blue ones melted with others stuck to them. I dont get it. Swedish fish sound pretty good right now...
I've also been looking for peach jelly ranchers for YEARS.

I've always loved swedish fish. I like the red ones and the different coloured assortments, but they've come out with some new assortments (probably this new owner) that frankly put me off. Tropical etc. Kind of ruins the theme anyway - tropical SWEDISH fish? What about Sweden is tropical?
Anyway here lately when I want something sweet I've been reaching for yogurt, granola, and fresh fruit. Open up a yogurt, put in some granola from justnuts, top it with fresh fruit - delicious!

That’s like a number of years ago Coke changed its recipe over night and figured “ nobody “ would notice, you know that turned out to be a real debacle for Coke and blew up in their face! That was a great call by the DOO that put him out of his six figure job!!!

That was a great call by the DOO that put him out of his six figure job!!! I was reading about business strategy and while it has never been confirmed, the rumor is Coke knew what they were doing. Pepsi was giving them a run for their money so they did the “New Coke” campaign purposely to fail so that they could then come back and say “we hear you and understand so we brought back the original formula”. It made them look like they cared about the customers and sales shot up and still got the new/modified name they wanted to put them in the spotlight, “Coca-Cola Classic”. They blew Pepsi out of the water at a time when Pepsi was a speed boat and Coke was having engine troubles. Again, not sure if true but the rumor is quite heavy so while manipulative, if true, was also genius. Still, that’s all big companies do anyway, manipulate. As for Swedish Fish, the wife and I tried an off brand hoping for the best. It did not go over well.

When I quit drinking candy was my supplement. A few months in I gave up candy for granola bars and trail mix. My 8 year old wasn't too pleased about that so now I keep a bag or 2 of candy in my nightstand. Since I havent had anything to eat in over 24 hours, this thread is making me hungry

Even though the change in the recipe originally was to save Coke millions it ended up making Coke once again leaps and bounds ahead of its closest competitor...... Pepsi. I was never a soda drinker, so I cared less!! It was never about the consumer, it’s always about corporate profits!

What is really bad is when they do it to tobacco! Jim has told me how great the old 3 Nuns were, others have commented about Rattrays being better back in the day, and the same could be said for others. But having never tried them old blends I am happy with what we do have, and hope that if any change it will be for the good.

Take notice on your Swedish Fish package, they are made and shipped from either Turkey or Canada. No longer directly from Sweden, which makes all the difference in the World. In Europe, they take their “ wine gums “ candy making to an entirely different level then we do here in the States. Another example: Once you eat a Milky Way or Cadbury bar made in England, the ones made here in the States taste more waxy in comparison!

Brian Levine recommends people traveling to Europe to load up on gummy bears to bring home... far better in his opinion.

I used to really like Yuengling Lager. I don't know that they changed their ingredients, but it sure doesn't taste the same to me anymore!

The red fish candy? I hate those things. I'm a licorice person, and no there is no red licorice Black licorice is the only licorice. I used to love going to the store and finding bags of "crow eggs" (black jelly beans). I would always buy a couple packs and send some to my grandpa in Michigan. When we, the grandchildren, were teething, he would let us chew on black licorice. As far as I know, I'm the only one that still eats it. I used to really like Yuengling Lager. I don't know that they changed their ingredients, but it sure doesn't taste the same to me anymore! Ya know what? I used to like also but at that time we couldn't get it here in Arkansas and a friend who lived in Kentucky (he couldn't get it there either) would come Crappie fishing with me every year and his FIL lived in Pottstown PA. the FIL would bring him a pickup load about 3 times a year and my friend ACJ would bring me several (10) cases every year plus some for us to drink because he didn't want me tapping into my stash. ACJ would even drive to Arkansas at night so the beer wouldn't be in direct sunlight. So maybe it was just something special or maybe it was different from today's recipe but I sure liked it better then. Sadly I have given up beer except on rare occasion because of the carbs.

Yeah, real Cadbury is so much better than what is in the States. What’s made here in the States you can take a candle wick, make a tiny hole in a Hershey’s Kiss light the wick and you’ll have a pleasant aroma of chocolate burning. For me, that’s all the Kiss is made for, kind of waxy to my palate.

And yea, Cadbury (and galaxy) chocolate is superb over here. I've never tasted USA Cadbury but I've heard it's not the same. I suppose it makes sense... We've so much more rain in the uk, more grass as a result and therefore a much different milk. I don't think there's the same difference in the dark chocolate.

Before I gave up the sauce, I was in Thessaloniki years ago, and drank Heineken and Amstel. Whatever they do to the US imported beer is a crying shame. Even Heineken and Amstel were delicious overseas.

My favourite chocolate though has to be the Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit and Nut bar.

Could be, but the chocolate part is smoother and tastier than Hershey's other stuff. Now eating a Cadbury Caramello, dang you guys. Dairy Milk on deck.
