I don't hear about Rattrays pipes very often - more about the tobacco. What are your thoughts? I'm looking at the Old Gowrie and Fachen lines which look like really nice pipes for the money.

From Pipephil:
“This brand with the scottish tobacco manufacture name is used by Otto & Kopp Gmbh to import pipes initialy crafted by Jørn Larsen and since 2004 (at least) by Butz Choquin.”

A pipe friend owns 2 Rattray’s pipes, he really enjoys smoking them often, especially the one Chubby nosewarmer.

Are they making traditional Rattray's shapes, or just labelling certain pipes as Rattray's? I seem to remember someone here is a BC fan?

I like the Rattray’s.....Rattrays 2016 Pipe of the Year 9mm Sandblast Bent Bullcap Pipe 152/160 for L99.00!! That pipe would look good hanging from my mug...lol. Butz Choquin makes some superb smoking pipes. But for my own personal reason I don’t buy products made in France, nope...not even a great bottle of French wine!!

Yes they are good, shopped out and I assume made to their spec, but if Butz Choquin is making them, I'd have to be really jazzed on a particular model to pay 20% more than a BC. I have owned them and traded them back to SP estates, while keeping my BC and Chacom pipes.

Yes, those are good prices. I liked that Fachen #105. Along with the tobac, I have heard positive reports on the Old Gowrie pipes.
