With the continued grown of this site, and the recent passing of one of our moderators (Mark), it has become necessary to refresh the ranks of our little staff. It's essential to make sure the gears are greased and all of you take your meds regularly.
On behalf of The Briar Patch, I would like to formally welcome Legend Lover (Andre) to the staff as our newest moderator. His participation and passion here at the Patch--combined with his European presence--made Andre a perfect fit for the job. Having him around in the hours that our US based staff is fast asleep will be beneficial for us all.
I hope you will all extend a big Congratulations to him as he takes on this new role.
"People are not made better by a briar. An idiot before smoking a pipe is still an idiot after smoking a pipe, they're just more likely to speak less drivel with something in their mouth. For that, all society should be grateful."

She came in with a smile and a pipe. A study of contradictions, she seemed to understand more than most. Eyes shining with humor and a comforting, easy to talk to demeanor. She was a goddess in mortal skin. She raised a glass and said, "Confusion to the memory of Newton."
