had to run by the bookstore today so I swung by Smoker Friendly to pick up some Sail Natural as I am almost out. Went in, went to the pipe tobacco section, and there wasn't any!!! The manager was there and I asked about it. She said that it just up and disappeared. She said she has a supplier in CA that sometimes has hard to find items so she was going to call him and let me know if she finds any. I didn't expect it to disappear this quickly! Woe is me!!! Anyone know of places I could look for it? Or, perhaps you know of a blend that is similar I can replace it with?

That sucks. It also is reprehensible that the proprietor doesn't know why or how and was taken by surprise.

Sometimes wonder if that is an opportunity. Could an avid pipe smoke apply for the job of running the pipe department?

Sometimes wonder if that is an opportunity. Could an avid pipe smoke apply for the job of running the pipe department? this is a commercial smoking chain retail store, so the the pipe tobacco is not a priority, the cigarettes are their mainstay. this particular one I go to is the largest in the area and they do have some select cigars and more pipe tobacco than others but it is all OTC staples. I do not go there often, just when I need Sail and a cob, lol. |

I just think if someone were to turn up at some of these places and make a good case they might get a job selecting and stocking the shelves or hosting pipe events and advertising. I dunno. I am pretty naive. I keep thinking business want to make money. LOL
