I have just found an amazing tobacco. Erik Nording's Pointer Blend. It has the best tin note and room note I have ever come across. The tobacco smokes well right out of the can with no drying out needed. It is quickly becoming my favorite.

That sounds awesome. I wonder is it available in the UK.
Let the search begin...
Edit: apparently not.

Don't get too attached. It's a McClelland blend.

If not, I say make a quick drive across the border and grab you some. Unfortunately, yes. They're exactly the same. No biggie though. I've still plenty of blends available in the UK to try. And we also have Germains...

I thought this and the other Nordings were long gone....? Me too. You'd be VERY lucky if you could find some. I loved the Beagle and the Pointer.

I have some Fox Hound which is a good Frog-like blend, and some Retriever which I haven't tried yet.

I have just found an amazing tobacco. Erik Nording's Pointer Blend. It has the best tin note and room note I have ever come across. The tobacco smokes well right out of the can with no drying out needed. It is quickly becoming my favorite. There is a 50g tin on eBay right now for $17 + $6 shipping, “buy it now” listing. Indicates more than 10 available. I’ll have to learn to imbed a link on my iPad, sorry.

I think a lot of people still must not realize these are McClelland blends - that's relatively cheap compared to others.

I have two tins of Pointer saved for retirement, but I may start grabbing one or two more as they pop on eBay.

Sad to see that 4Noggins has jumped firmly onto the price gouging bandwagon, in addition to raising their prices overall. They "flip" Esoterica on their "consignment" page now, too. I preferred Rich's business model. Payless has 7 tins in stock at MSRP. I've ordered from them many times and never had a problem. If anybody want these, I say jump on them now! I have a couple tins of each Nording blend so I'm good. So, how much kickback do get from these retailers, qmechanics?

Damn, The Tinder Box has Retriever in stock, but they do not ship to Louisiana. Anyone in UT want to order me three tins?
I never got around to trying Retriever, and I am an aro man at heart.
PS, if asking members to buy tobacco for me is taboo or outside of some policy, I plead ignorance.

But in this case, I'm not sure if we have a policy on this - it's nor really buying from someone...you're asking them to purchase on your behalf. I'd say it's close though. Best thing to do is hang around this place for a couple of days and keep posting for around 60 more posts, and then I won't have to find out.

I have a couple tins of each Nording blend so I'm good. So, how much kickback do get from these retailers, qmechanics? Ok I am going to come clean. My name is David Dunhill. I come from a long dynasty of pipe and pipe tobacco barons.Secretly I own every pipe tobacco company out there. Each morning I look over the reports to determine which blend(s) and/or company(s) needs a bit of increased positive publicity. Once the list is compiled, I move quickly to various forums and reviews to give honest & positive opinions about my products. So there you go P&C, Smokingpipes, Tobaccopipes,CupOJoe,4Noggins, Payless, etc all get some love as my piggy bank gets a little fatter in the process. Best David Dunhill PS The ending of Dunhill pipe tobacco blends is my latest attempt to promote a line of my products. You all remember the last time that occurred? The sales went through the roof cha-ching cha-ching.. Daddy needs another yacht...cha-ching... I hope this does not change the nature of our relationship....We can still be friends, right?

Was out of stock at 4Noggins for a long time and all of a sudden back in stock. I'm just wondering whether this is a new batch (in which case it will be interesting to know what they used instead of the McClelland tobaccos) or some old stock from somewhere.
