Looks great. Nice job. Out of curiosity, what did you patch the stem holes with?

Looks great. Nice job. Out of curiosity, what did you patch the stem holes with? Itโs a concoction of activated charcoal and some high grade cyanoacrylate.

I would love to make a find like that. I'm more than convinced that I could restore a nasty pipe. I restore antique furniture for a few people the sell in some of the shops here in the village and I'm guessing that the principle is the same?

Top shelf work as always, Joe. Your level of detail is outstanding.
Youโve inspired me to dig out that old LHS horn and finally finish it.
Btw, I love that semi gloss finish. Thatโs the icing on the cake.

Amazing transformation Joe! I've never seen an LHS with those dots, so I agree that it's an uncommon pipe, one of their hi-grade pipes I reckon.

Have you seen many with the shank dot and the 2 stem dots? Joe, Iโve seen many with the one white dot on the top of the stem and the red dot circled on the top portion of the shank. Usually donโt see the red & white dot on the stem with the red dot on the shank as well. Iโve seen a number of 2 dot stems with NO dot on the shank. The pipe looks gorgeous, outstanding restoration that took quite some time for the results you achieved. Plus your stem repair is flawless๐๐๐๐๐

True...it requires a slightly different set of skills, tools, and you finish a pipe differently that a table...but a guy who understands the restoration of wood furniture has a leg up on others just getting into pipe restoration.

Rescued and given the respect it deserves. +++
My SuperFine was shown in Chris's Pipe Pages to have retailed at $1.98
My Patent Purex has a 2 Dot stem and none on the shank.

Fantastic work as always Joe my friend.
You've got me feeling a big remiss in my refurbin responsibilities.... :-(
I've got over a dozen briars sittin on my desk waiting to be brought back to their former glory.
Time to get busy
