Not necessarily this pipe, but I bought a few pipes on Ebay with repair bands, and they are very good smokers. I have a billiard stamped "OLD ENGLAND London Made....it was a magic smoker from the start, it developed a small crack in the stem, and I liked the smoking quality of the pipe so much, that I smoked a few more bowls and the crack got wider! I sent it off to Mike Myers, expecting to hear that my only option was to shorten the pipe. I don't know what pixie dust he uses, but that step did not need to take place, and after using a magnifying glass there is not a trace of a repair. Nothin fancy, but just a good solid workhorse.

I mis-spoke above...I called it a "jiv" repair band...when I meant "sjv", which is an acronym for "San Jose Vein". They are actually silver, but the little marking is not an actual age hallmark, the symbol and letters are the band's brand trademark. Here's an excellent example of the sjv repair band on a nice pipe...albeit, covering half of the pipes original stamping....sigh. Margaret...let's see what you end up buying from the pipe show!!!!
