Swift kick going to my own arse. I knew I should have got a pound instead of 8 oz. Looks like after I finish this jar the other one gets to have a couple birthdays.

Break out your smaller pipes
Agree, sip this blend on weekends or special days👍
I have a lot of confidence that the cooks in the JFH kitchen will get it right. STM is what they're famous for so they won't mess it up. There's a lot riding on it. JMO...

I got an email from Just For Him, about them having a LotR/Hobbit Day this Saturday (9/22). In the email, it says they'll be unveiling 3 new "Middle Earth Pipe Weed" blends. I would assume they're replacements for STM, and Isengard, etc. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, in case you're interested.

Whatever they produce, it's all top notch blend... i look forward to their new offerings!
Oh no! What happened? Should I assume one of the tobaccos isn't available anymore? I only bought 2oz. and now I'm kicking myself pretty hard..

Yes. You are correct. But we are in our lab trying to create something similar or better. It's a slow process.
That is the whole reason McC went out of business. Frustration with quality tobacco growers going out of business. Companies focused on luxury don't want to release an inferior product with their name on it just because a grower goes out of business. Its becoming a major problem for blenders. Getting good tobacco in.

With the FDA Deeming Rule in place they may have to prove that the blend will have predicate tobaccos/ingredients in it. That does take considerable time.

They released two blends in September. Bombadil and Goldberry. Bombadil sounds like a replacement for STM, and I think Goldberry is Isengard. I haven't ordered any yet.
STM is gonna be hard to reproduce...particularly if they don't have access to certain tobaccos...if they aren't growing it, they won't be able to accurately reproduce it, in my opinion.

They did a good job earlier this year with the re-issue of STM by replacing the lost McClelland ingredients when MC went away. Their updated version wasn't as good as the original STM (IMO) but it was pretty close. Some didn't even notice a difference. If they found a substitute for the McClelland components once, they would not surprise me if some new blend or an STM re-issue is pretty close to the original STM.
I'll have to savor the maybe two bowls that I have left of STM. I'll have to dig in my jar of samples to see what others that I still have a small amount of.
