I'm 5 years older than my wife. The odds are I will be deceased before she is.We were talking about that today.I told her to have me cremated. It's much cheaper than a burial, and she can use the money she saves...You ready for this..She asked me if I want her to make an appointment for me for Thursday..I didn't reply because she's fixing diner.

I have also requested that I be cremated and not buried... not for monetary reasons, but rather, because I am fiercely claustrophobic. π±π€―π¬

Tell her that you don't have a burning desire at the moment.

Likely I will be weighted down with lead and then rolled off the back of a boat.
I admire your Mrs. sense of humor.

I hope your wife was kidding.
I had decided years ago that I wasn't to be cremated for the simple fact I didn't want to start burning any earlier then I had to. After reflection and years later I changed my mind, damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead. It's just a shell I leave behind and of no use to me anymore. Ashes to ashes and dust to dust as they say.

Cremation here too, my ashes to be mixed with my former Cattle Dog Zach and scattered together hopefully where I requested or we'll be back.

If that's possible at all, yes I would like to partake of the occasional pipe with the Big Guy but, not smoke coming off me.

There is a joke that Iβm sure most of you have heard.....getting cremated and your ashes scattered all over the kitchen table and your wife or ex takes a deep breath in and blows your ashes all over the place and says out loud.....πππ

My wife watches a lot of forensic shows. Is that a bad sign?

I guess I'm practical to a fault, because I told my wife to donate my body to science or a medical school, whichever seems the most interested.
It won't cost us a dime, and some scientist or medical student might learn something from the body I leave behind.
That said, I still get a little creeped out thinking about people poking around my private parts.
But hopefully by then, I'll have moved on to greener pastures, and I will just be happy to help somebody else one last time.

I said the same to my wife, but I mentioned it to my boss who told me that, over here at least, they give you the body (or what remains of it) back and you still have to bury or cremate it. I was hoping to save the wife some money. Apparently not.
