Back in 2012 one of my homemade custom blends called for an ounce of Erinmore Flake. The blend turned out to be very pleasing to those that sampled it so I ordered two sleeves of the Erinmore Flake for future blending. I had smoked it a few times fresh from the tin but didn’t care for it at all. I eventually got tired of the custom blend in which it was used and a total of nine tins have been stashed away since 2012. A few weeks ago I started thinking about selling off some of my tobacco. There’s no way I will live long enough to smoke all that I have. Today I decided to recreate the blend that I made 6 years ago which called for the EF. Turns out I was out of another component and decided against making it. Instead I took several blends that sat it opened tins and recently opened jars and began experimenting. I was about to add a tin of the aged Erinmore Flake but decided to give it a try before committing the tin to the mix. That aged Flake was fabulous! Everything that I like about a Va. Flake had somehow magically appeared during 6 years of aging, sweet, perfect moisture, rich in taste, easy to light, and burns to ash without many relights. I had planned to post these tins and give a great deal to someone on this forum who would have agreed to buy all nine tins. Sorry fellows! NO WAY am I letting these tins go at any price. Now I’m afraid to try some of the other tins that have been aging because they were purchased to be included in other custom blends but I didn’t care for them fresh. If it turns out I like them since they have aged I won’t be able to bring myself to part with them. Another hazard of stashing tobacco. AJ

At least you found out in time!! Oh yeah! If I had at some future date, after selling those tins, smoked some well aged Erinmore Flake and discovered how great it was, no doubt I would be kicking myself daily. AJ
