My newest addition to the fold. It rang all the bells for me so I had to bring it home. Amazing original condition survivor. I had it cleaned up and ready to smoke in 15 minutes. 1938 MR&C GBD

That is a nice one.... I wish all the pipes like this one came with a history.... if only that pipe could talk...from ‘38 on, whoever owned it lived and smoked in some remarkable times.

Nice pipe, i am a sucker for army mounts. Indeed, if it could only talk. Would have liked to know the original owner.

That pipe is 'right' in so many ways. And you have it looking superb.

Well I fired it up and it has a Lakeland ghost. It’s getting the salt and alcohol treatment as we speak.

Lakeland blends should be smoked in a decent Cob. You’ll never know if the Estate briar you purchased on eBay has a ghost until you stuff the pipe with one of your favorite tobacco’s....that’s when that ghost flies right by......nasty!!

Great Pipe, Man. It has to be beyond cool smoking an 80 year old pipe!
My Peterson is my first Army mount and I think the next few will be as well. So convenient.

No. Not a fan of Lakeland’s at all. Old lady perfume and soap is not my cup of tea. A few salt and alcohol treatments, and few bowls of Gaslight will exorcise this ghost.

Looks like there was some amount of gunk in that.
