I once smoked a pipe at an outdoor cafe in Vienna. I would experience that over and over and over again if I could.
To see face of a girl go from disappointment when i took out the pipe to fondness when she smelled the aroma's of childhood. I would experience that over and over again.
The first puff of Billy Budd Blonde in the morning. I would experience that over and over again. Oh yea, I do!!

To bring this around to smoking - I have had several memorable pipe smoking moments that i would love to relive over and over. Or what about going back and buying about a thousand tins of your favorite discontinued tobacco. Oh man, I would be all over that!

I have not responded to this thread because I’m a realist, was never into watching fictional TV shows, movies or reading any books based on fiction. I’m living in the present, can’t change the past and do I have control over my future.....absolutely not. However, I often sit back while enjoying a fabulous blend and contemplate on my life from 1975 to 1980. “ My Finest Hour “!!! you and my wife would get on. She hates anything sci-fi. And yet she loves the show, outlander, when a nurse goes back in time. Yea, I know!! Only reason she likes it is because of the lead actor.

Well. A Tardis is made out of wood assuming it's an old call box. Osha would not allow that to hold passengers. The space stone is useless without a gauntlet unless you are a titan. We can't get Google maps to work right, so a navi computer would be utterly useless. DeLoreans are obsolete because cocaine is still illegal. And the 5th dimension being harnessing gravity in intersteller is not plausable. So I guess Einstein saying we can see, but not visit the past is irrelavent. Lol Hey, they are restarting the manufacturer of DeLoreans here in my town any day now.

I love the movie and book "The Time Machine". But I don't want to live it.

Delorian... One of the few famous things made in Northern Ireland... Along with the titanic. A company down the road here in Texas bought the equipment, spare parts, and intellectual property. They are going to be a LOT more expensive than the first run. They are offering the non functional add-ons as options.

Delorian... One of the few famous things made in Northern Ireland... Along with the titanic. Yup, I was there when they were being built in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland. Not far from Belfast as I remember. It’s a darn shame cocaine went to the designers head. There are over 50 new, never sold Delorian cars stored in a secret warehouse on Long Island. Some have been parted out as well. proper spelling........Delorean

It would help if I knew how to spell the name.

That would be great fun with all those young girls back in high school. You would just be a dirty old pervert then because you get to travel back in time not age

From a practical point of view, I would like to go back in time and get a taste of Esoterica Dorchester and or Dunbar. I would try some Penzance too just to see what all the talk is about. But I am a huge fan of those Virgina and Perique dominant blends and if i could go back in time I would stock up a bit.
But if I could go back in time it would be because all of y'all can go back in time, and you all would for the same reasons as me, so I would get to the party too late and things would run out even quicker.

I am always disappointed when a company decides to reproduce something that’s no longer in existence. I believe it takes something away that’s special. I have no interest in a Titanic replica, a Delorean reissue or made in Poland Condor. Sometimes it’s best to let it be. Obviously many people feel otherwise.

I think I've got mixed feelings about this. Titanic replica - nope. DeLorean reissue - After a few Back to the Future fans buy them, I'm not sure they'll have much of a future after that. Poland Condor - I'm assuming you're thinking of the tobacco...in that case, if they can get the recipe RIGHT then great. It's a shame that often that's not the case. Movie remakes - STAY AWAY!

I heard a studio executive once say that they know that remakes of classic movies are not a great idea artistically, but that when there is a generation that hasn't seen them,it's a great way to sell tickets to people who would never buy a ticket to see a re-release of the original. They aren't for the older crowd. They keep pulling it a different group of movie goers with each reboot of Spider-Man.

I don't even go to the movies to see new stuff, let alone remakes. maybe 30 years since I've to a movie.

Thinking about it some more, if I could go back in time, it would mean everyone can go back in time, which would mean everyone would be going back and changing everything and it would be the most ridiculous loopy chaos.
I would kind of like to stop, or slow things down for a while. It seems weeks go buy in a day or two, months go by in a week or two. I am barreling ahead faster and faster and faster, and... there are parts falling off of this car. It does not look good.

As long as I'm not slowing with everyone else. I could make a pipe last for ages, while enjoying it in 'real time'. But I'd also need to speed it up again after.

What I'd really like is not to go back in time, just to make the current time move more slowly.

I used to always keep my mind on the past, hoping for do-overs. I'd have silly thoughts about how lucky I may get and by the time I was fifty be up several strata in life. It was really an issue with me and I learned to just accept the moment for what it is/was. I watch a lot of science docs and sci-fi, so it's not like I don't think of possibilities. I just remember Comedian Richard Jeni say every porn film should be named "Things That Will Never Happen to Me" starring people I will never meet. And I remain happy with what I have

I have no desire to go back and change my past, as it made me into the present me, which I am enjoying.

Space and time are inextricably linked, being the same thing. So when you want to go back in time, was the place you want to go there then, and where is that with respect to where it is now.

Time travel is a touchy subject quantum physics wise as you can't really prove or disprove it, although a Swiss made micro watch was found in a sealed Chinese temple. Interesting though.

The only two rational theories of time travel involve: 1- traveling faster than light speed. Problem is as one approaches light speed, infinite mass is approached making surpassing light speed nearly inconceivable. 2- folding spacetime. This may be plausible, but nothing so far has suggested this is even mathematically possible. Wormholes may be a solution, but still a theory with no supporting evidence.
I think 2 May eventually be an more interesting solution, but we are nowhere near understanding the physics of this.
