I’ve smoked the Old Mixture Golden Flake and their Dark plug...,both excellent. I’ve never seen them sold here in the States. If it’s a reasonable price at your retailer I’d give it a try....enjoy👍

They are about the same price per gram as every other. I may dabble.

True, and thank you.... But I trust my friends here too, and they know me, so I can get a better feel of whether or not I'll like a tobacco from the responses here.

All they make are Diseased Eyeball-flavored blends? That packaging really is ridiculous.

Martin, you are more than welcome to bring any of my threads off-topic. We usually get onto the right topic in the end anyway. It's one of the things I love about this place. I'm not sure what the healthcare situation would be like if you've relocated, but despite its failings and frustrations, the NHS is brilliant. And I also think, and I've NOTHING on which to base this, but I wonder that if the FDA puts some sort of American ban on tobacco, that Europe might not go that far.

Regardless of whatever propagandistic stories you may have heard, the NHS is one of the best things about the UK, and is rightly one of the things the people are most proud of. It's practically a sacred institution, and whenever there are attempts to privatize it there is a lot of public objection to the idea (we will see what happens post-Brexit, though....).

I mean, I could go out to the garage this evening, for example, but my daughter wants to watch a film with me. We normally do this when my wife works nights or has worked the night before. So I'd rather spend time with her. Tomorrow, the wife and I are going to a friend's 40th so I may bring my pipe and I might be able to get a bowl in, but the weather isn't to be great so I don't want her freezing on my expense. Reason I'm asking is my birthday is at the end of September. My wife's siblings and my own normally give me around £15 each, so I'm putting a list together of what tobaccos to try. There's nothing else I need so I might as well try some tobaccos I wouldn't normally. Thinking of some Hal of the Wynd, Solani Aged Burley Flake as well. I'm still looking.

For those of us in the USA, Salty Dogs is a very close match, and I think it's lots better than Peterson's Perfect Plug. Salty Dogs price is on the high side, but if you factor in overseas shipping for Ilsted's it's a fair deal.

Ah. Yes, as long as you're a legal resident - you don't have to be a citizen. If you only have a tourist visa you'd have to pay for treatments as needed.

OK, just making sure you're getting your proper pipe induced mental health breaks semi-regularly. Can you get Peter Stokkebye stuff over there?

Paddy, according to your customs tax structure you can receive a tin of 50 grams of tobacco and pay NO tax if marked as a gift from a personal address.....if from a business you would pay tax on any tobacco products shipped to you.
