I take care of my 93 yo mother who still lives in the house I grew up in. I bought the house next door so take care of her now. It's the weekend so I need to do her wash and wash her dishes etc. Keeps me off the streets ! Michael, your a lucky person to have your Mom near by, she’s got a good son! My Mom and I were very close, I lost her 3 years ago. There is not a day that goes by I don’t think of her. Cherish every moment with your Mom, I wish her health and happiness.

Playing horses today, Travers Stakes card up at Saratoga. Tomorrow, I'll take the puppy for a nice walk at sunrise, watch back to back episodes of Alias Smith and Jones with pipes and coffee during the morning hours, pay some end of the month bills and review the action on Wall Street over the past week during the afternoon.

Any plans for the weekend ? New pipes , cigars ? Relaxing outside ? Fishing hiking boating. What else do you guys do ? I will be working Saturday and Sunday smoking by the pool if the weather is nice. If it is not nice I’ll be cleaning out my garage of baby boy clothes, found out we are having a girl. I saved a whole garage full of boys stuff and now it will be donated to someone in need. Let’s hear it... 😁 congrats on the news about you having a girl. I've 2. I don't know what I'd do if I had a boy.

Plans changed. I forgot that we have to go to the funeral for my Scoutmasters wife Mildred. 98yo and the sweetest person. It was a tradition that when a Scout earned his Eagle, she made him a big bowl of her banana pudding. She had made over 400 bowls at last count. That's a lot of Eagle Scouts!

Funeral is over and I missed the number of puddings. Over 500 Eagle Scouts awarded the Mildred prize. That's 3 generations of Eagles. It was great to see about 80 uniformed Scouts and leaders in attendance. A celebration of a life

That's 500 Eagle Scouts from one troop, which her husband Bill founded in 1962. She was awarded the Silver Fawn award by the Scouts and the Torch award by the United Methodist Church. Her 4 sons were all Eagles and 2 are ministers. Everyone loved her.

Everything I needed to do today is complete. So, wake up tomorrow, drink some Caffeine and Hate from BRCC, eggs and bacon before heading to the range with a buddy to help sight in his rifles for his January hunt in South Africa assuming things down there don't continue to go sideways.
Any tobaccos from South Africa he should grab for me?

She shot a zebra last time. They are adding on a room to make room. He uses a 338 mostly, but he's taking his BIL's 416 for the Buffalo. I HAVE NOT offered to help him sight it in.

They are living in a Barndominium on 150 acres with longhorns that eat out of her hands and come to her to be petted. Inside, the walls are covered by trophies of all kinds of animals. Kudo, zebra, warthog, impala, white tail deer, mule deer, geese, eland, and more. She's got a blood thirsty streak in can back it up. She was the Wisconsin state collegiate archery champion in college, and hunts with her 300 Win Mag and the 338. She is a one shot, one kill kind of girl. We finally got her to realize that a whole mounted giraffe would take too much room for a family home, so she decided to settle for a rug. Other than that, she's Suzy Homemaker, mom of 2 Eagle Scouts and a great friend. 54 years old, 6'2" Norwegian Blond.

I don’t believe in killing a bear or deer if not for food, I’m not into trophy killing. In 1996 I got a huge 14 point buck with my Remington 770 .30-06 bolt action. My hunting buddy wanted the head to mount, that’s fine with me! In the mid 80’s I watched a hunter kill a Bobcat just to have his picture taken with his kill. I was hoping his next shot was in his foot👍👍👍

Yeah, I agree that the proper hunting motive should be for food or varmint elimination. I watch the deer in my fields for amusement, because I don't particularly like venison, but the pheasant and grouse are fair game. My favorite varmint rifle is a lovely walnut stocked CZ in .204 Ruger with which I can dispatch a groundhog at 600 yards. A 20 power scope helps.

I guess some folks enjoy the "hunt". I won't be critical of their idea of a sport. Myself, I love life for everything that lives. Everything the Lord put on this planet is here for a reason, I'm not the one to change that.

I've killed and eaten my share of small game and deer; however, I consider these types of activities less than honorable. JMHO

I spent the morning cleaning my Ex’s back deck and the outside storage closet. The building is being power washed then painted this week. I was able to store most in the outside closet. A few plants and a lounge chair will be coming inside later. Made two trips to her dumpster already. I don’t enjoy just sitting around, never sat around prior to November of 2011.

JMHO I am not crazy about it myself, and I would never hunt for trophies, but it is something that has been going on for millennia. To each their own, to a point.
