I woke up today to find this wonderful email in my inbox. I emailed C&D to check to see if they had any plans to make any new matches like they had done previously with Good Morning. Sadly, it does not appear that way. However, Jeremy did provide me with some interesting input on what he believed were similar tobaccos already blended by C&D. I already smoke London Squire, nearly on a daily basis. And the more I think about it, yes, it IS similar to 965. I will need to give Bayou Night and Orient Express another go! Thank you, Jeremy!

Letter below:
Dear Unknown Pipe Smoker,
Thanks for the feedback on Good Morning and especially for being a longtime supporter of our brand! I am very glad to hear that we hit the sweet spot for you with Good Morning and I wish that I had a blend of ours to point you to as a "match" for My Mixture 965 or Nightcap, but unfortunately I don't. However, I would suggest that you try a couple of things that might come close or at least fit in the same arena as these two Dunhill offerings. I think of Bayou Night as being in the same vein as Nightcap and Orient Express or London Squire may reach some of the same flavors for you as MM 965.
I hope that this helps you in your search and that you are rewarded with your findings with these fine blends.
Regards, Jeremy Reeves Head Tobacco Blender C&D

I don't see Bayou Night and Nightcap being close to the same. Those 2 are in my top 5, but for completely different reasons. I'm not sure what he means by being in the same vein, but maybe I'm misunderstanding something here.

I honestly haven't smoked B.N. in awhile, and I really need to give it another go, before I make any other comments in that direction. He's right, though, that London Squire and MM965 do share a lot in common. I can tell you that from experience.

Yeh, nicotine content I can see. I like the high nic blends. But to me Nightcap is more leathery and smooth while Bayou Night is more fermented/tangy/raisin tasting.
Either way, I LOVE both of them and they both represent a good chunk in my cellar.

I have to agree, both Bayou Night and Nightcaps are excellent blends, their characteristics and complexity is totally different for me. The only thing I find in common would be roughly the same amount of nicotine. Oh, if I had to chose only one....it would be Bayou Night👍

It's nice that you got a reply at least giving you a suggestion. That gets a thumbs up in my book.

I like Engine 99 as something in the same vein as Nightcap. Not exact, but family resemblance.
