A couple of weeks ago I found a Søren Refbjerg Rasmussen freehand and had to send it off to be repaired. When I started the cleaning, the vulcanite piece attached to the shank came off and I noticed the stem was one made for a Preben Holm pipe. Sent it off to Briarville for a repair and new stem.

...I really like Joe's, too... beautiful pipe... Thanks. Does yours have the original stem? I took a guess based on some other Soren pipes when I had my stem made. Smoked little more than a half bowl last night. Lasted for about 45 minutes.

Looking around the websites that still have new ones for sale they seem to be available and the pricing is up there, a tribute to the maker. banjo

Not a fan of the more wild era of Danish Pipe making, when I was in my 20’s yeah I owned a few, today I’m more inclined to lean to subdued, yeah I know I have some wild pipes in my collection but it’s the bamboo that does it I’m telling ya! So here is my Søren. banjo

I too much prefer the second Søren that Banjo posted.....that’s a stunning piece of briar. The shape and color of the stem makes the pipe a real looker👍

Mine was my first Danish freehand until I picked up a Preben Holm Delight this weekend. I’m in the cleaning and polishing stage with it now. On the second alcohol and cotton ball soak now.

I decided to thin "the herd" some and one of the pipes I'm going to sale is the Soren. I just don't find myself reaching for it that often.
When I say "thin the herd" what I mean is selling off some of the estates I've collected and buy more artisan pipes. I'm also selling a Preben Holm Royal Grain.
