"Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
-Dylan Thomas

What words, they tear at my heart thinking of men who gave their all for this country, should be read over every man who fought for his country, thank you so much.

That it was, but some might perceive this poem in an entirely different meaning.

The joy and enigma of good poetry is that the individual sees his or her own reflection in it.

The joy and enigma of good poetry is that the individual sees his or her own reflection in it. You're right there. That is the beauty of art.. Not just in art but in the world. We project and see reflections of ourselves in everything we do and experience. Isn't art wonderful?

This has always been my number one favorite poem and I've never gone gently into anything I reckon. My 2nd Favorite is "Eldorado"
By Edgar Allan Poe Gaily bedight, A gallant knight, In sunshine and in shadow, Had journeyed long, Singing a song, In search of Eldorado.
But he grew old— This knight so bold— And o’er his heart a shadow— Fell as he found No spot of ground That looked like Eldorado.
And, as his strength Failed him at length, He met a pilgrim shadow— ‘Shadow,’ said he, ‘Where can it be— This land of Eldorado?’
‘Over the Mountains Of the Moon, Down the Valley of the Shadow, Ride, boldly ride,’ The shade replied,— ‘If you seek for Eldorado!’
