I ran into a fellow at the columbus show that was telling me about his time overseas in some samdbox or another and the fellars there would smoke a blend of 50% perique and 50% latakia. During this he mentioned that smoking straight perique tended to make people feel almost mind alteringly relaxed. I havent smoked straight perique but I know a few people that have smoked one bowl at a time just to taste the difference in varietals. I dont think I have the constitution for it. Ps does sell blending tobaccos in bulk, I think that is what this is intended for.

Straight lat or straight perique...whew. Not sure I could take that, and yet my old mentor/boss sometimes would smoke either straight. He was a better man than I.

I guess I'll have to try it straight. Reviews say it's got a pretty heavy nic hit. It's shag cut too. Maybe, after, I should mix it in thirds with Five Brothers and Dark Bird's Eye...

We can judge how the quality of your posts change during a smoke.

I've smoked several kinds of Perique and they all have their own unique qualities. It's really a pretty boring smoke alone and many of the flavors don't appear until it's blended. Most recently, I've been smoking Golden Triangle which is a blend of different Perique tobaccos. The tin note is like a mousy/cheesy brownie. Lol

Most blends that smell weird, usually have a completely different flavor than the tin note. Which, I assume, is the case with Golden Triangle. Which one are you referring to? The Grand Point sounds good.
