Here is our baby. He is a red merle Australian Shepherd. Hubby had an Aussie growing up and adored him. Our son was scared of dogs (no idea why, he'd never been around dogs) so we decided we would get a puppy and hopefully as the dog grew up son would adjust to dogs and no longer be afraid of them. When we got him he was eating solid dog food but the lady hadn't completely weened them off milk yet, so at bedtime he got a bottle and to help the bonding Bradley was the only one who fed him his bottle. This was his first night in his new home. Just a month later we were at a highland games, and Bradley went up to the guy doing the sheep dog herding demonstrations to show him a photo of his dog. One of the herding dogs came up to Bradley and sniffed his knee -- Bradley didn't even flinch. Mission accomplished

I had to put down my 7 yr old basset hound Captain Hook last month still a a rough time for the family. Sorry to hear the loss of a family pet at such a young age. Wishing you and the family all the best, in time another dog will be in your future ๐๐ It will be sometime, with the baby on the way we can not take on a puppy at the moment. It will only basset hounds for my family when ready.

Levi and Logan were some handsome kids. You can see the intelligence in their faces.
All dogs are special, even the problem ones. They own a part of your heart...forever. You may think you are "over" them, but they own part of you, if you loved them.
Our Pepe loved to ride in "his" red truck...arm hanging out the side of the window. All he was missing was spitting out the window...we had a baseball cap for him...he wore it proudly.

This is Chef. Don't let his small stature fool you. He'll scrap with dogs 5 times his size. Fearless little guy.

Lonnie cannot even see, but if I grab my keys on the weekends, he is READY to go for a ride. Curiously, if I grab my keys during the work week, he never leaves his spot on the sofa. When he could see, if I followed my SAME routine, and I even put on a work clothes, he knew it was a Saturday. I cannot trick him. I guess I put off some vide, when it is the weekend as compared to the week, he does the same thing, even now that he is completely blind.

Banjo, beautiful Weimaraner, I remember when you lost Levi...it was heart wrenching the day you posted Levi passed away. Back in 2004 when my Toto passed away in my lap, it took me 4 years until I started looking for another dog. I was lucky during my lifetime....I owned 4 highly intelligent dogs that trained well..... Ringo my black Lad, Jiffy my Boxer in Malta, Toto my Cairn and finally Gideon...super friendly Chihuahua. Gideon was the only dog that could not be trusted off his leash. All 3 of my other dogs I heel trained and obeyed only my commands. I remember placing a large milkbone biscuit across Ringoโs nose, taught him to only toss it in the air to eat once I snapped my fingers twice. Took some time, once he learned that well Iโd have him sit in the backyard and place a bone across his nose. Then I would walk around the entire perimeter of my property and return to see the bone still laying across Ringoโs nose. Once I snapped my fingers twice he knew what to do๐๐๐. Ringo was the dog that trained Snoopy, my ferret to stay on the property where he belonged. If Snoopy wondered off, Ringo would gently pick Snoopy up and carry him back where Ringo felt comfortable on โ his โ property. iโve posted pictures prior of Ringo and Snoopy outside, but I think itโs worth posting again. When Snoopy passed away at just over 10 years old, Ringo was heartbroken from that day on, until he passed away. Ringo actually cried the day he lost Snoopy forever ๐๐๐

Although heโs only in my heart and minds eye he will always be the brightest spot of being to have ever been my friend. Whetted it was hunting birds, riding in his Mercedes SL500, going for long treks or just being Levi he was the absolute best thing. Here is is at home sharing his bed with his buddy, also deceased now, Levi in the front, Logan in the back. Just being his normal handsome self. They are beautiful dogs and extremely versatile, in fact in Germany if you wound your prey and canโt find it you must contact the closest state office where a warden and Weimaraner will be dispatched and the Weimaraner will locate your prey, they are the official state dog. Sadly being a large chested dog it doesnโt have a long life span, 10 years is the average, Levi was 12 years 8 months when he passed and Logan was 14 y/o considered to be quite old for a Weimaraner. banjo By the way Levi had a Mercedes as his daily ride, a 1995 SL500. I drove it twice after he passed and it felt empty so I let it go. my uncle came to live with us for a few years when I was a young teen and brought a Weirmaraner puppy home after my collie died. I raised him and he was my best friend for several years. Sandy was a fun dog and loved to wrestle in the grass with me. My uncle moved away to the woods when I was no longer living at my mother's house and took Sandy with him. We went to check on him while my uncle was in the hospital and he had a deer that he was eating in the yard and looked healthy.

Here's our two rescues. Gigi on the left and Priscilla on the right. Great alarm dogs and buddies. You can have the crappiest day at work, but its always great to walk-in through the front door and have two wagging tails and big smiles looking your way... Well, they aren't smiling in this photo though

Seems we all think alike. Dogs are wonderful people. If only people could be more like dogs...this world would be a different place.

I really need more happy dog pics crew. We had a lightning strike in the neighborhood, and the surge killed my TV (only a year old) and my media server with all 1,207 movies and about 500 TV shows.

Another picture of a friends dog. Most laid back little guy I knew. Sadly he had heart issues and he moved on two years ago.
