Lonnie Dog said that since I am spending so much time in the patch, the patch needs more dog pics. Meet Lonnie Dog, an eleven year old rescue half weenie dog, half rat terrier with a wicked underbite (broken in his youth), glaucoma, diabetes, cataracts, a BB in him, where he had been shot (vet said no need to remove), who is blind as a bat with a shameless addiction to naps and belly rubs. This pic is from a while back, but it is one of my favorites. It was right after we found out he was a diabetic, and we were still going through drill of finding out how much insulin he needed. You know the drill girls and guys, post up your dogs! Here is a current pic of Lonnie Dog in his natural habitat

Here is Bully the Lionhearted today, shortly after his sixth birthday. We've had him for nine months now. We learned a while back to not adopt the doggie that makes you happy; adopt the one you can make happy.

Brutus and our mini dachshund Molly. One loves car rides and the other is scared senseless of them. Hint its not the little one she runs to the truck whenever I say "ride".

When he stands his back legs look like they're wearing brindle chaps... backwards

Here's our fur baby, Hank. He's been part of our family for 4 years now. I was out of town on business when my wife and daughter texted me a picture of Hank, he was a rescue puppy found by a hunter. He and his sister Dolly had been abandoned. Were both half starved little bags of bones. He has without a doubt been my favorite dog ever! Mousie (Jenni), my daughter has trained him to do dozens of tricks and he is truly one happy pup with the run of the house...

Found a few more... Finally, one of my favorite pics. It was last month. Hank was at home alone with me one night during a thunderstorm. He decided to hang out with me in the mancave. Great pal for sure...

No more furry friends for me, there too hard to loose. Ron, So sorry for the loss of Cubby. All of our doggies have changed our lives. I wish we could get at least one more dog, but we are getting on in age. He looks very cute. We took one of our lab after passed. He was so good he just went to sleep. Anyway, thank you for sharing

Both of these dogs are gone...Roxie the Lab mix on the left was a shelter dog...smartest, coolest ever. Bella on the right was dumb as a stump, Mastiff Dane...I will never have another superdog...when they get diarrhea or a urinary infection and go in the house it is like an instant piss and turd barn. Duke is our American Bulldog...if you ever saw the movie Homeward bound and recall Chance...that is Duke.

David: "adopt the one you can make happy." So true! We adopted a small (tiny) 4# chihuahua from a friend, who had found him 7/8 dead in a dumpster. He had crawled into the dumpster to find food and couldn't get out. He had no teeth, all rotted out, almost no hair (from malnutrition) and a receeded lower jaw from the lack of teeth. We called him Pierre because his nose was the most prominent feature of his face. He moved into our family of two other chihuahuas Cassie and Pepe. He was the happiest dog you could imagine, he finally had his own pack. He sustained us for 8 years of total joy. Loved Burger King burger patties and chicken nuggets (so of course I went out every day to get his lunch). When his brother passed (Pepes' back had spinal stenosis just like mine), poor Pierre was so depressed...he passed across the Rainbow Bridge 3 months after Pepe. All 3 are buried on our property with proper graves and headstones. We now have a sweet pure white female whom we adopted from being put down by the shelter because she had epilepsy. She doesn't bark and goes with us everywhere she is our companion 24/7. So yeah, adopt the one that needs you, not the one that you think will make you happy. They all will enlighten your life immeasurably. They belong to the Lord just like we do. That what you do for the least, will bless you the most. Sorry this was so long. I have written a story about St. Pierre that is too long for this post. If you are interested, pm me with your email address and I'll email it to you. It will be worth it if you are a dog lover.
Soon as I have picture ability I will post pictures.

These two sweethearts were are first two dogs. Pepe is the tan, and Cassie is the tri-color. Both are now deceased, but always in our hearts.

The first is the late Pierre, he too was a rescue. The white lady is our present rescue, Misselli. She has epilepsy and stays with us 24/7.

Although he’s only in my heart and minds eye he will always be the brightest spot of being to have ever been my friend. Whetted it was hunting birds, riding in his Mercedes SL500, going for long treks or just being Levi he was the absolute best thing. Here is is at home sharing his bed with his buddy, also deceased now, Levi in the front, Logan in the back. Just being his normal handsome self. They are beautiful dogs and extremely versatile, in fact in Germany if you wound your prey and can’t find it you must contact the closest state office where a warden and Weimaraner will be dispatched and the Weimaraner will locate your prey, they are the official state dog. Sadly being a large chested dog it doesn’t have a long life span, 10 years is the average, Levi was 12 years 8 months when he passed and Logan was 14 y/o considered to be quite old for a Weimaraner. banjo By the way Levi had a Mercedes as his daily ride, a 1995 SL500. I drove it twice after he passed and it felt empty so I let it go.
