Admittedly I’m a quicker cadence puffer than what is considered normal, not a freight train smoker but faster than most. When I saw this pipe by D. Mostras it stated it was for the experienced smoker only and when it arrived and I saw how delicate and elegant it was it screamed to be sipped. I never thought I was missing some of what the tobacco is telling you but whether it’s the finest Briar available that he uses coupled with the thin wall and the fact that it is truly meant to sit and contemplate life sitting in a cold rain in a place like Vancouver Island the joy it brings to the palate and senses are phenomenal, I am fortunate to,own this elegant Stack Poker Sitter with Olivewood accent, keeping it smokey with some Orlik Golden Sliced. banjo

I think I'm a quicker smoker too. I need to spend some time with the good folks here to know for sure.
That's another lovely pipe though.

Stunning pipe. I too puff a bit faster than I should. Slowly trying to break myself of the habit. I find obsessively trying to pick the nuances out helps me to slow down.

Outstanding pipe it sure does deserve to have you as its human as we all know you will truly love each other. Congratulations on your find!

What helps sipping is that I mostly hold the the pipe by the bowl, and I rarely clench. The result is that i am constantly reminded to slow down when the bowl gets to hot.
The first pipe of the day for me is the best. I wish it could last all freaking day its so good. I sip gently trying to extend the experience to more than one and half cups of coffee.
If there were a breakfast cereal that tasted as wonderful as sipping my morning Billy Budd Blonde, I would weigh in at over 300 lbs. Thank goodness there isn't one actually.
