Does anyone have a pipe buddy? Someone with whom you would regularly enjoy a pipe?
I have 2, although we don't meet as often as I would like. I almost got a meeting last weekend but it was raining.

Just me. I've only seen 1 other man in this town with a pipe in 21 years. I'm sure there's some around since we have a smoke shop. My neighbor used to smoke a pipe, but now he smokes "cigars." Not the good ones either, cheap gas station 2 for .99 cigars. When I used to drink I would bring him home a good cigar every once in a while. They have a walk in humidor at one of our liquor stores.
I wish I had a pipe buddy. The closest I get to that is the fat beagle, a book, or some tools.

No but I should get one I let's friend try piping if that counts it was enjoyable, he smoked proper right away to my suprise😃😆

To be fair, that's kinda the same with me. These guys don't smoke the pipe that much either, but when we meet, we meet to have a pipe and a chat. It's nice to have. |

My best friend gifted me his pipes - he loved them but didn't want his young son thinking smoking was ok. We will leave than without comment as he means the best.
The closest I have are a good friend who smokes cigars (who will be getting a pipe as a Christmas gift), and the few occasions I've enjoyed the company of the AZ Pipe Club.
Really, smoking is like many pastimes I've enjoyed, as I tend to be a solitary soul - reading, movies, swimming, bicycling, motorcycling, shooting, all are contemplative. Not saying I'm some great philosopher - I might be solitarily contemplating belly button lint, but pipes feed into my alone time... Which my wife supports as she hates the smell of even aromatic pipe tobacco, so I'm relegated to the porch, hence not much smoking during the AZ desert summers.

I had two for over 40+ years but one died last year and the other now has lung cancer and can't smoke any more. So I smoke by myself. |

If she did it would be a cob....and she'd hog the tobacco. Haven't seen a pipe smoker (except looking in the mirror) in 22 years of living in Tallahassee. I don't socialize much as I can't stand people (except pipe people, they are different). |

I have a good friend who was a pipe smoker until a couple weeks ago when he had a new girlfriend move in! Jeez! I told him to beware of that, but nooo. Maybe Thefallsguy and i will get together more often.

My neighbor smokes with me. He's got young children, and he flies helicopters over the Gulf of Mexico on a 14/14 schedule, so we don't get to smoke enough. Plus, he less funds for tobacco, so I help keep him stocked. I'll be treating him to a few estates for Christmas.

2 local pipe clubs I attend means I have plenty of pipe smoking buddies around. Also managed to get a couple of guys I work with that smoked cigars to give pipes a try. They alternate pretty regularly now.

a couple... I have had the pleasure of being in this room with some of the fine gentleman in this picture and the photographer. I have shared a bowl on more than one occasion with the shady looking gent in the left foreground smoking a cigar! Who I Will happily call my pipe buddy. |

… I had 4...3 have passed in the last two years and the 4th moved to Florida last Spring...so, its been more of a solitary endeavor...but I have plenty of company...my wife and the five rescue dogs...

IRL I have family,of which only one of
my sons smokes a pipe.I guess it's my
fault,I gave him his first pipe and
tobacco.Come to think of it,I've gifted
him all the pipes he has.The first was
a cheap chinese job,I feel bad about that.
Not really,he was trying to sneak my
figural Meerschaum out to his car.He was
around 20-21 at that time,almost didn't see
22.Now when he comes around I just have to
watch which bowl he's filling with my
Captain Black.

I have some pipe-smoking buddies in the pipe club and some from church. We have the pipe club meetings once a month and there are about 6-8 of us who get together to smoke and fraternize. At church we have the clandestine "Book Club" for men that meets from time to time at various peoples homes or at a public location and smoke pipes and cigars.  |
