Just a thread to tell us a bit about your preferred pipe and what make it so? A story that clues us in on what makes it special, a specific maker? And maybe a pic I d like to see it if possible.

Sorry no pics but my favorite pipe that I've smoked the heck out of since I bought it back in 1971. It's my Edward's 720-L bent bulldog. It was my first Edward's and I was hooked on their pipes since.

Probably my birthday pipe that was gifted to me by my "brother" in London several years back. A bent Dublin straight grain with plateau rim.

Usually the one I’m smoking 👍. I got rid of ALL my poor smoking pipes. I will NOT smoke a pipe unless it’s a great to outstanding smoker. So, I have to many I REALLY enjoy!!!

It’s hard to pick just one favorite. I certainly have my favorite go-to pipes that always deliver a great smoke. The Stanwell 08 Army Mount shapes are some of my best burners. upload an image

I hear you... but I herded out any dogs that I had, life is too short. I can take a Devil Anse for one type of smoke, a Bulldog for another, but if I have the time and am caught up in the festivities of Christmas, my old Austro Hungarian lap pipe fits the bill. I can have a sublime experience in any of the settings... kinda lucky that way I reckon.

Pipeing is a thing of excess a blessing in itself it allows one to have more if only periodically,i too think it is somthing of luck.

An old, well used, Willmer bent apple. The button is cracked, and the stem is pretty chewed. The bowl rim is burned up. BUT, it smokes anything I throw at it superbly. Doesn't matter what type of blend.

A well seasoned bowl smokes best, I've both heard and experienced it.

Unfinished Savinelli 320 KS for me, no pics required. It's the best smoking pipe I've ever owned. After years of searching, I knew it was the pipe for me and the catalyst for cutting my briar collection in half. They're affordable, mechanically sound, easy to maintain and bomb proof on the travel away from home. My preferred Virginia based tobaccos sing in them.
This having been stated, I still prefer Burley in a cob, MM Country Gent or General. Lats smoke best for me in a meer of which Baki and IMP are my favorites.

My favourite pipe is my first 'proper' pipe. It's my rusticated mm Legend. My first pipe (after the basket pipe which never worked for me) There's a smidge of sentimental value in this. First proper, learner pipe. Pipe purchased in my 40th year, great smoker...

Fine looking pipes, and solid proof a pipe can last a lifetime.

Those are some great looking pipes folks. I don’t necessarily have a favorite. Three of my pipes are sentimental to me, because they were my dad’s. This is a Dunhill amber root (3208) bent rhodesian with a repair band and cumberland stem. I recently had it restored. The other two are a rusticated Urbino bent apple with an acrylic stem, and a Savinelli Oscar prince with a repair band and lucite stem. The Urbino smokes best, but other two smoke well too. I’ll post pictures later. . . I thought I had pictures of them on my phone.

I, too, have done what Paddy did to his Legend....came out looking like the twin to his. Makes it much more "my" pipe than before. I really like the black look as the plastic stem has turned black from smoking even though I clean it out every time with whiskey. Thinking about painting the other Legends that I have just for the H*** of it. Doesn't seem to affect the breath-ability of the pipe any and looks so much better than they grubby (from use with not so clean hands) use.
