It's September and even with threat of rain I managed to sit out last evening and smoke a bowl. It consists of broken flake and lit easily. Had no trouble keeping it lit. It was a smooth, billowy smoke. There was a distinct aroma I liked. I can't explain it, but I've smelled it before. I thought maybe it was dark-fired kentucky, but after reading the description that isn't mentioned at all. It has orientals in it, but this isn't the same aroma as the yenidje I like, but maybe it is "melded" with something else so I can't identify it. Maybe after a few more smokes I'll figure it out. Overall I like it and will put it in my regular rotation, but I still like Sail Natural the best

I especially can relate to the illusiveness of individual flavors that could be either this or that when melded. This is so often the case not easily put into words as estutely as you have managed to do - bravo!

Lady M, excellent review....I’ve smoked this blend prior...it’s going to take a few bowls of smoking before you can entirely figure out it’s complexity.........enjoy the fun👌👍

Hey guys/gals, would it make it easier to have a "Blend of the Month" board for you guys to start these threads in? Might make it a bit easier for people to find as well.

I think it would be good to have them in their own area. They get lost, and often forgot about.

It has been done.
It is now in the Pipe & Tobacco Talk section with the BOM Selection post set as a sticky in the top of the board.

doesn't anyone have anything to add? did I pick a dud? Nah. I haven't said anything only because I tried it years ago and thought it unremarkable. But, I'm a lataholic. Gotta have my tobac pre-smoked.

doesn't anyone have anything to add? did I pick a dud? I felt the same last month. Your bump might help give people that gentle nudge.

I let this dry about 45 minutes. My preference is dry until right before it turns crispy. It only seemed right that my first smoke of this was in a cob.
I'm with you on the smooth billowy smoke. It burns wonderfully and I didnt have any bite at all even when puffing like a freight train going uphill. I pick up sweet and light citrus from the Virginia and some spice from the orientals. The burley is there, but not very pronounced to me. Im not real sure what Brazilian leaf taste like so I have no comment on that. It burned cleanly all the way to the bottom. Had 0 relights as well
Overall I like it and look forward to smoking it again. I wouldnt say it has anything special to it, but sometimes I like that. It will make for a good blend when I'm busy working on something.

I cant pick out specific varietals, but it was tangy, sweet and a nice full flavor overall. It's nearly identical to peter stokkebyes natural dutch cavendish. I smoked it in a well used cob for an afternoon and may end up loading it into the truck pouch to burn up the rest. It is a good smoke overall but not one I will seek out since thebcomparable blend is cheaper by the pound.

I find myself grabbing this pouch quite often. I haven't sat down to really try to figure it out, I will soon, but until then, this blend is really growing on me. Just off the cuff, I get a woodsy smokey taste with a little citrus and a nice bit of very noticeable cinnamon about half way through (for some reason, I get cinnamon in pretty much all VAs) the bowl. It finishes with a nutty, campfire taste.
This is pretty good shvt, Maynard.
