Champions of the Christian West, Mr Blair & President Bush.

Maybe I am an old epigone naive armchair wannabe warrior sir , but Christians in the Levant have faced almost complete genocide, A serviceman in this country offers his life to God , Crown & Christ, in good times and bad. We still suffer the Second World War martyrs in this parish , my life is not my own but is to serve God ,  Crown & Christ  in peace or war. The martyrs sacrifice of the past in two world wars has given me , my little freedom, do I deny the future youth their freedom by my cowardice. I can understand jihadi suicide bombers,in their desperation and their hope, I have had Muslim colleagues at colleges,  but America is another continent another culture. But each man walks his own way in the light of his God or philosopher, these military were regular volunteers.

Is not 2, 000 dead in the uk  on the roads to many but  for what cause. There were over 11,000 firearm deaths in the USA in 2013 alone, and in 2012 , 92 road deaths per day, is that a worthwhile waste of lives. The jihadi warriors are at our door , do you forget the Twin towers, and the on going terrorism crimes. But I am an old man that was young once, and it is the tragedy of life that old men send the young to war, but these old men often offered their lives as well in their youth, but thank God the Iraq/Afghan conflict was not the 1st. nor the 2nd World Wars, I offered myself willingly to the Royal Marines as a teenager but was not good enough, but such is life...
But  I am not a war monger, as an elder only son it is my duty and calling, to serve God , better an unjust peace than a just war as the ancients said, and I know injustice , but why complain...so peace brothers & sisters, but the wolf is at the door , so be prepared. I can still serve.
Forgive me if I sound unfeeling but your good , kindly,  sentiments would not convince an ISIS warrior of his righteous cause, nor their elders, nor his hope in his millions of  brother  worldwide for jihad. Peace friends, in the love of Christ.

I have had my last pipe & drink this early morning on the Eastern shore of the Atlantic , beside Europe, nearby mighty Africa. And will retire to some rest, God Willing.

Very true, sadly , the folly of words & reality, the pipe dream of eventide wakes up to the light of day of rich bankers & friends profiteering from the death of our young people, but two sides to the same coin, let us beg to differ sir, we cannot escape history , or current affairs, I think of James Stewart in Shenandoah, best keep silent & light a pipe......

Pardon me if my little "rant" has gone to far, but I thought it came more  under the description , current affairs  & world news, & even philosophical,  rather than " Party" political , while my language was a bit descriptive it was not abusive or foul,  but apologies if I have tread into forbidden territory, most media is inflammatory "rant" these days unfortunately, it is the language of discourse of the press. Again it is probably a cultural difference.

Excuse me gentlemen , am I reading this correctly, is it zero tolerance , a clash of personalities or my posts are not politically correct for this private forum , it seems the smoke haze is clearing , is not my apology acceptable ? I would like to clear the air rather than cause ill will, am I over posting ? Or is it the national difference, can we be plain gentlemen please ?
