Thankfully I avoided a scam today and one that might help others out also. I've been selling my pipe collection on eBay for a little over a month now and have run into all sorts of buyers without an ounce of integrity but, this one had a different approach. I won't say where he's from but, its not the US. He contacted me last night and stated he didn't have a PayPal account and what did I think about a wire transfer or taking credit card. Smelling something rank I replied that I'm not setup to take credit cards nor wire transfers and was only allowed to take PayPal but, that PayPal would take a credit card. He replied to me this morning be rather short because I denied taking his payment methods and told me that he had purchased many items from sellers on eBay using these same methods. Now here's the clincher.......he only has had 2 transactions on eBay for the record, where I come from, two doesn't equal many. Maybe I'm wrong but, I'd rather be wrong then screwed. Ya know the old saying, "screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me." Which brings up another thing, non-paying bidders and others that just take there sweet bippy about paying you. I can do without both of them but, this habit seems to have grown on eBay nowadays. Be glad when there all sold and I don't have to deal with these cretans anymore.

Ron, your smart enough to pick up the scammers. I’ve dealt with eBay for years, use to refer to the site as eScam...now eBay backs ALL transactions. I only deal with USA buyers/sellers, if it’s a serious scam I’ve gotten in touch with the Fed’s......a few I know for many rears. eBay is constantly being monitored, why do you think Craigslist Persnals column was finally shut down permanently!!!
Good luck on the sale of your pipes. Hope your back home in Texas by March of 2019, or sooner if possible 👍👍

I would post them if they were the ones I made myself being there would be a set price but, being that these are all estates with some unsmoked ones here and there, I hesitate to put them up on a forum. That and these are auctions and I haven't set prices trying to get the most I can out of them so I can move and setup shop once more with ease. There is one other thing to that makes me hesitate to put them up here, I've already had to complaints about pipes I've sold and both were uncalled for but, still it happened and the buyers both decided to keep them and not send them back. I don't want anything like this happening here or anywhere to be connected with me because it will certainly reflect on my pipes I make and on me in the future. Unlike some making pipes I NEED to keep making them to subsidize my income if I'm going to live solitarily.

That, alone, tells me how legitimate their "complaints" were.

Ron is 100%. I've known (through the forums) him for a number of years...we even had a mutual "friend" that made pipes. Funny, because now looking at Ron's pipes...there is no comparison. Ron is a master and the other "friend" tried hard but just wasn't up to the quality that Ron produces. I don't own any of Ron's creations, but wish I did. Now, it is too late for me...but not for you when he starts making pipes again. If you are looking for something that you will cherish for life and perhaps even pass on to children...his is the one you will select out of your stable.

Uh, what kind of pipes? And seriously, what is your screen name on eBay? I am hunting estates to help a friend grow his collection.
