at my 77+ age 1st thing when wake up, grab small mirror & say "hey, nice to seeya again". Nothing much planned...supposed to rain & brutal humidity all day. Looks like inside for most part, glad the A/C purring along fine

Since this whole weekend was shot in the foot, tomorrow will be different. I actually have tomorrow off for the first time in roughly 10 years. Since I'm off, I'll wake up 2 hours earlier than normal (5 am), I don't know why that happens, but it always has. I plan to do nothing more than drink coffee and smoke pipes all day. I WILL finally get around to this Arturo Fuente 858 Maduro. I've had it for 2 weeks and haven't had the time for it. I'm sure there will be something on the grill at some point, but I'm taking it easy and keeping my stress level to a minimum. If it's not my children, or the briar patch, I ain't answering any calls or messages. I hope you all enjoy your day Im with you LL, work til I die, unless the lottery pans out one day. I really really enjoy these and I would guess you will too |

Big rain here in Cajun land, Buddy don’t like making KaKa in rain, I don’t like being out in the rain with Buddy. My LSU team put it on Miami last night. Here’s a Happy Labor Day to all.

Sincere question. I know Labor Day has been around be a long time, but has it always been this huge of a holiday? Around here in PA it seems like it's almost verged into black Friday level sales and shopping etc. I don't remember it being so huge when I was a kid, but maybe that's just bumped up memory on my part.
Anyway, happy Labor Day 😀

Sincere question. I know Labor Day has been around be a long time, but has it always been this huge of a holiday? Around here in PA it seems like it's almost verged into black Friday level sales and shopping etc. I don't remember it being so huge when I was a kid, but maybe that's just bumped up memory on my part. Anyway, happy Labor Day 😀 Labor Day is no longer about an employee staying home and celebrating the day with family and friends.....it’s about the “ almighty “ dollar......it’s revenue baby!! |

Down here in Cajun land we didn’t know they had a day to stop working. First time I ate turkey was in the Navy on Thanksgiving, down home it was ducks, goose, beef, pork, turkeys were looked upon as a ugly bird. Down the road the new Cajun breed made a Turducken. We used to hide when we ate crawfish, when we let the water out the rice fields we caught them, they were small, and what we call Yankees made fun of us for eating them. My My how things have changed. Maybe for the better, Maybe not.

So food has been looked upon diferently. Attitudes....still have a looong way to go. No respect for each other and heritage. People have gotten meaner and nastier than I've ever seen before. Cajun...you and I are lucky cause we are old...if we were 20, we'd probably be in jail for hurtin somebody because of their mouth.

I had a nice quiet labor day. Spent most of the day relaxing with my roommates. Then met my brother and parents for a nice dinner. Stress free and great. I don't like making a huge thing out of holidays. Keeping things simple is my perfect holiday.
