I stopped by an antique store by the house they had about 6 The Pipe they wanted $12.00 ea they needed some work to clean them up. Aren't those the space age material pipes? I have a blue one that I use as a door stopper. Not knocking it, just sayin... |

I have a blue one that I use as a door stopper. Not knocking it, just sayin... Yea they are some sort of material. They were quite heavy. To heavy for me. I didn't think $12.00 was worthwhile. They even had some over smoked, cracked bowl Medicos and Grabows for $8.00 plus that wasn't worth it. And the were presmoked cobs with a nasty filter and tobacco in the bowl they started at $12.00 and went to $16.00. |

Antique, some peoples junk are treasures, some peoples treasures are junk, some peoples treasures are treasures and finally some peoples junk is really junk, caveat emptor unless you can bring someone knowledgeable with you steer clear of that kind of Antique joint.

In the past year I have found several lightly smoked Meers for less the $50.00 each.
At the same time I found an Eagle Claw that was well smoked had wonderful coloring. To find out I over paid for it because the airway was almost completely plugged in the shank and stem. It took several hours of careful work to bring it back. And I paid more than $50.00 for it.
With thrift stores, antique stores you have to look over each pipe with care. I try to carry a small light when I go looking so I can see the the finer things.
