Looks like you did great. Nice score.
The GBD Century was a model made to celebrate their 100 year anniversary. 1850-1950. If the law of averages holds up, this should be a great smoker.

Oh yeah ... I'd have paid that much for just the Aldo Velani alone! That's a nice looking pipe and reminds me of a Viprati Lovat I have. Congrats and enjoy!

You did really well. I would have been really chuffed to find all that for that price.
If I'm to be honest, I'm not sure I would have bothered with the cob, but that's just personal opinion. I wouldn't buy a used cob unless it's a corn dog, but with those other pipes, you've scored well.

I cleaned it all up and I should have waited but I couldn't take it any longer I loaded it up with 965 and it is a good smoker

The square and diamond shank cobs are really nice. The one on eBay and yours are square shanks but part company after that, yours is wood with an applied kernel look, the one on eBay is made from a corn cob hence the hefty tag, but you still did might well without reservation. banjo

Pete, Hell yes you should smoke it, sterilize the stem and give the cob any cleaning it may need then once everything is dry fill it up with your favorite tobacco or a codger store tobacco and enjoy. banjo

An OTC like Carter Hall or Prince Albert. Any Burley forward blend would do, though ... great in a cob!

Apologies, I never noticed the square stem. In the case I would have added it to the cart.

That GBD alone is worth twenty five bucks.
And if the old "corndog" cob is smokable, that's a fun collectible too.

Yeah you should smoke it. An unsmoked or unloved cob is a crime. π Haven't you ever heard of Santa Cobs? In the dark of the night I... I mean he.. sneaks into pipe smokers' houses and smokes out of all of their unsmoked cobs.

Now there's an idea. Calling Phil Morgan...
